I am not doing Lanza, but i wondered if anyone would be up for a pre-Lanza training ride based in or around the Chilterns?
I know some poss dates in April are already taken with Brighton Mara and White Horse Challenge but does anyone want to get together in March or other dates in April.
Date, distance and route to be decided by consensus
If you're interested, please put your names down on the dates you can do

I am searching a route up over and around Dunstable downs which are slightly better in hill terms than the sheer drops of the chiltern 100!
it looks really sad for the social life of barley and rafi that they have nothing on at a weekend for weekend after weekend
On of those weekends is easter
Yes i am for the easter weekend from the wednesday before to the wednesday afterwards
Nope - ride will be in the morning..... we party at night! Us youngsters can do both
Id be up for a sunday but wont put my name down as i dont even know what im doing next week - any sunday except for easter weekend and the weekend after atm
itll be the closest i get to Lanza
Meldy, would be good if you could sort a route, 70/80 miles maybe?
Guess we'll go with the most popular date, only caveat is i may have to work a weekend at short notice.
Roll on Lanza, training starts tomorrow
I can look at routes, the only problem I see is that there will be most definitely a spread of talent shall we say!
I did look at a figure of 8 loop before that took in Ivinghoe Beacon and Bison Hill so we could do something like that at our own pace with refreshments at Ashridge afterwards?

Usual caveats .. I may change my mind or swap a session but should be free for those dates and some others during the week, have added the Whitehorse Challenge also as I know quite a few of us are doing that one
Now the last time I looked I thought both Bison and Ivinghoe were on the Chiltern 100?
I'll check the diary and add myself to the list.
im game too
I'll ride over then get the train back into town.
I will probably be able to make saturdays better than sundays though.
and you are not wrong Ferret Sir, I just didnt think the whole C100 course was Lanza specific, we could find some more rolling hills over t'other way
I am not overly familiar with routes over there but we have Toms Hill, Bison HIll and Beacon Hill all within spitting distance so cant be that bad !
Up for this, March is out for me though.
Yep, be good to join in, can probably make most dates, prefer earlier rather than later, need someone to kick my arse into gear ASAP!
I can put some Feb dates up as well if you like Symes, just wont be quite as many hours?
I'm up for these but don't know my whereabouts in advance I'm afraid. Posting to keep my eye in
Could do a hybrid of part of LD and C100 courses
Remenham Hill?
The one were we came home and I suggested we go out and finish the ride and you Gaylorded after 10 miles?
Its Pishill between Henley and Christmas Common - 8 miles of up-flat
Is that the climb from Watlington? That was on the C100
Just had a look on the map, its up the B480 from Henley, the hill from Watlington must go up from the opposite side.
I mentioned the Henley to Christmas Common route as it must be at least 3 miles long, similar to some of the long drags at Lanza (though the drag through Teguise to Haria is about 8 miles I think)
Just to add, these Lanza training rides are open to anyone who wants to join us, you dont have to be doing Lanza.
Err, Feb, erm, damn, just remembered I've got that thing with the thing to sort out
I'm sure the B480 is the old Challenge Henley route, which you do three times - its the bit from mile 10 to mile 18 on this:
Watlington hill is even worse!!
Count me in. No social life either so I can do any date. I am finally doing a week training camp in Lanza with Club La Santa late feb.
I am based in London, where is rendezvous point?
