Well, first off I couldn't run because there was ice everywhere. I'm still pretty much the beginner, and don't feel confident running in those conditions just yet. Secondly, I had a small sebaceous cyst removed the other week, which required three-four stitches. The nurse did say about keeping the area dry, so I'm a little nervous about working up a sweat or worse still ripping out my stitches.
The thing is, this is making me feel really down and miserable. I miss my running so much, and I don't know how much longer I can just sit around taking it easy. I've cut my calories down and have since incorporated home exercises like pushups, squats etc. It's nowhere near the same though.
It's taken me a while to build my stamina and distance up, so I'll be pretty upset if I can't just get back out there this week.

Dont worry, you might find the first run back feels harder than you remember, but by the second or third you'll be back into the swing of it.
Two weeks is too little time to lose fitness.
As Stutyr says. Don't disheartened by that first run back. You'll quickly get back to where you were.
Thanks for the reassuring replies! Well I went out this morning and managed to do my usual 4 mile run. I had to stop once or twice, but it soon felt as if I'd never had a break.
