A new event. Haven't done any of this company's other events but will give this one a go, I think. At least with limestone most of the surface water should drain underground. You can but hope.
It was a big supported/team effort WiB. I had a registered time-keeper (and wife) start and finish me, and several runners/pacers to verify I ran the correct route. Only way I could make it an official trail record.
It's quite a tough course, wouldnt want to do it self supported. But an ultra race sounds great.
There are some stunning views. I ran from S-N because it suited the crew, timings and chances of prevailing wind. However, the run from N-S means you don't have a tough uphill (Broadway Tower) to finish and instead get a stunning view from Broadway Tower at the start and Bath at the finish.
Lots of views over the escarpment. The best villages will be in the first 10-15miles. Very peaceful, qaint.
Underfoot - A mixture. I changed from xc to hibrid to trainers within the first 25 miles. You shouuld be able to get away with it unless it's wet, when you'll need some grip over fileds and through the woods.
A great course, but constantly up and down along the escarpment. I've done the Cesars Camp 100 and I'd say it's as hard if not harder....ups and downs....but better views lol!
Not this event but I thought I would chuck my query in here anyway as it may be on the same course, part of it anyway. I have entered the 2 day Cotswold Way race on 6/7 April next year, starts near Evesham & finishes in Stroud with days of 30 miles & 27 miles respectively.
No doubt I will find out about the terrain in due course but just so I have an idea of what is ahead, anyone familiar with this area? I haven't done much trail running, jumped into this one & now the nerves are kicking in!
Decided against doing this this year after all, sorry. Spoilt for choice with events for Sep so I'm doing 10Peaks Brecon Beacons instead. Can't realistically do both especially since I'm doing Ridgeway 85 end of Aug.
Will be following your fortunes avidly though and hope to enter in 2014.
I emailed the organiser and apparently there's 20 signed up and quite a few have registered interest with a view to dropping a late entry in. In view of my recent habit if being injury prone I think I'll be one if the latter.
Okay great. Think I might be on the maybe list as well. A low key event might be just the ticket for me this year. Will see how my training goes over the next few weeks and make the call. Hope to see some of you there perhaps...?

I intend to enter but I won't be troubling Daz or his record!!
I could well do this as my first 100 miler!
Sounds interesting. What is the terrain like..?

Did you use a crew or was it a self supported effort Daz? If you had no outside help then I think it will stand a fair while
Race looks good though.
I've just entered... and bought a map of the route..

Daz.. so.. what's it like..? I've entered purely on the basis of getting nice views to look at..
What's the terrain like..? The web site is woefully lacking in info, although I suppose I could get it via google elsewhere...

This is on my list to do this year. Not entered yet as got other enteries to pay for,
The low key the better.

Been keeping an eye on this but does not seem to be that much interest yet. Anyone else out there got an eye out for this in Sept?

I'm one of the 20...
I should be in for this. Im doing a 100k in June and will be making a final decision then.

Yes mate I will be more than likely do it. Will be my first one so god knows what the night will bring
Had a nice surprise today... cost a nice letter from the RD and a map of the trail in the mail today... very thoughtful.
