I'm due to run my first half marathon in mid-May but I'm travelling around India for the last two weeks in April and I'm unlikely to have the chance to train while I'm there. Should I train hard before and after the trip or abandon this particular run and aim for a half marathon later in the year?

Hard week of training before you go, culminating in a tough LDR. Try and do even a few short runs there. LDR as soon as you get back, or at least 10 days before the event.
