  • Fab running everyone!!

Moo has put on 150g in the last 2 weeks despite taking nearly 1000calories less each day. This would suggest he ddoesnt tolerate cows milk protein. We review it again in 3 weeks. He does need some supplements because he doesn't have much calcium in his diet.

I'm still planning a run tonight but want some advice. Last night was hilly at pace. Do I do a flat 5 miles, some speedwork or more hills. Tomorrow is my lsr
  • Well dne Moo.....I would suggest flat 5 miles easy pace By,eck..you really shouldn't do speedwork after hilly paced run or before your LSR.

  • That is what I thought Franny. Flat being relative - only a 70m climb over 5 miles...
  • I've just found this programme:

    Dumbell Workout

For dumbells only!  Dumbell weights that is, not the people using them. image

And for anyone wondering why the heck they're called 'dumbells' (like me):

    Why are they called Dumbells?

  • RR - I'll look at that workout when I have a minute, I need to do some weights while I can't do much with this damn knee. Ought to go swimming but I am shattered, so going to stay home and have an early night. Will probably try another turbo tomorrow and see if the knee objects. Will ice it when I have finished cooking for the kids

brill news that moo has put on some weightimage can he have goats milk? My mum always used to swear by it, and in fact we kept goats when I was a kid so we had loads of itimage

by eck - definitely just an easy run or you will end up injured

  • Excellent news about Moo image

    Enjoy your run Byeck

Well done Franny and RR and everyone else.

I have done another 9 miles on the bike, and a pilates class today. Hope my legs recover ready for the LSR tomorrow. Have to say, my family are finding it very amusing that I am falling asleep at the dinner table.

  • Goats milk contains lactose, albeit in low concentrations. He is incredibly sensitive to the stuff he can't have so we have to avoid even tiny amounts.

I did 3.5 miles in 32 minutes. It wasn't at all flat. I just found myself halfway up a particularly nasty hill and thought 'oh well'. To
  • MOOOOOOOORNINGGGGGGGGGG ITS FRIDAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

mr byeck * stands in military regimented PT instructor pose* ......i have to agree with the others and say that i order to build the stamina first then you may need to forgo the speed. walk before you can run soldier...if you knw what i meanimage...or run slowly before you can run fast in this case.....image

  • good news about Moo!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My leggies ache. Apparently my little run last night had a 900ft climb. Ouchy ouch.
  • Moooorning

I hope everyone is okay. I promise I will be back properly with you all soon but I am in the process of dealing with an Appeal which is completely out of my comfort zone and means lots of Reading of stuff and making decisions that I am not sure I want to make image

I must admit it is eating into Marathon training too so I'm not a happy Bunny. I was told it's only 10 weeks now, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek

By Eck, I'm not surprised that you ache, well done.

    Have a good Friday everyone.

  • Ecky, if you want to talk about it, I'm happy to help so far as I can.  Assuming its a legal matter, I have 5 years of law school behind me, and personal experience in appealing both a decision not to pay benefits and also unjust recovery of benefit payments.  Can't guarantee that I can be successful, and you have to make the decisions - I can just present the realities and the law to you.  If you want a bit of help, just PM me.

  • Hi everybody!

By'eck - Great news about Moo!

Did a 4 miler yesterday which is still about all I can manage as fitness has really gone downhill and I'm still snuffly. School starts again on Monday so I'll be pretty much back to running once or twice a week. Having nightmares about school already. Gosh I wish I could do something else.  Ideas on a postcard?image Even thought about coming back to England but everybody else in the family is happy here. Went as far as looking at flights yesterday....feel like doing a runner before school starts again.image

Anyway, middle boy had a swimming buddy staying over last night so we all had a late night.  Hubby has just taken them to the mosque for Friday prayers so daughter and I are having a beak from the noise!

Have a good day everybody. x

  • Awww Jude, hugs to you sweetie. What a yucky position to be in. We know how hard you have to work and how stressful it all is. (If you moved to near Chingford then we could do parkrun together image)

Ecky - sounds a tough one for you too.

Byeck - no wonder your legs are battered! Actually mine are too. But the sun is shining and I'm planning 10 miles this afternoon. Am going to wait until after school time since my No.2 girls wants to cycle with me image Dinner is already made and hubby is here to watch the other girls.

Have had a rather distressing morning (just stuff), but the last of the choc chip cookies has helped and I'm going to get my essay written this afternoon. Speak to you later.

  • Afternoon,

It is indeed Friday and I thibk thag we should let Loula party & have a weekend of misbehaviour...and we should all join her!!! Lola hope things are working out for you. The boss hopes the home situation is sorted.

byeck-Pleased to here Moo has put on a bit of weight. Just weighed myself and I have gone down from 11 2 to 10 13 which is a more plasing weight for me.Well done on your running.

Franny-Well done on your 9 miles. When is your Marathon?

That's Kelly Brooke - can you believe that Katie Price has apparently recently called her a 'heffer'?  At least she's a natural beauty, KP - in that same article, there's a picture of KP with so much fake tan she looks like an Oompa-Loompa!

Besides which, she's definitely no 'heffer'...

  • RR-Fine fine pictures- so acceptable.  RE Katie Price - she only lives about 3 miles away from me. Not my favourite person it has to be said.

Wow - three miles?  Do you ever see her around?  Not many people can say they've bumped into Katie Price while out for a run..image

Just finished pullups for back, followed by dumbell workout for chest.  Chest's feeling a bit sore: good! image

  • No she has passed me a coupld times in her car- she doesn't want to be recognised in her pink Range Rover KP11HOT or her pink horsebox!! I think she may be stalking me - but she would be well done on my list!!!

Well done on your pull ups etc

I don't understand why she had all the surgery done - she looked much better when she was 'natural' - Katie Price, rather than 'Jordan'.  I saw a picture of her once, before all the enhancements and OTT makeup - she was very pretty.

Because 'pretty Katie Price' was pretty but not special.  There was nothing that made her really stand out from all the other 'pretty' page 3 models.  If she wanted to progress beyond Page 3, but not go down the full blown porn route, with her level of talent she had to distinguish herself in some physical way.  So she had a shit-load of surgery.  You'd bang Katie Price (with a ball-gag, of course, don't want her opening her mouth and spoiling things) but you'd (or rather a lot of people would) fantasise about Jordan to the extent that you're paying loads and loads of money for that fantasy, and the magazines see that value.  Sad but true.

  • evening all

well long day at school - left really late, so no gym, so swim, just home and relaxing

Jude, I know that feeling, but hopefully you will get back into the swing of things

  • I didn't run.today. I kinda sat down with a book and moved 4.hours alatER having read only one page and snoozed. Think I must have needed.it
  • by eck - ah, how lovely, a nice long snooze.Bet you did need it and it has done you far more good than your run would have done.

have a trial with a masters swimming session tomorrow, hope they don't tell me I am not good enoughimage it would be great if I could join a couple of their sessions a week then I wouldn't have to fight with the slow people in the medium lane all the time

  • I'm not going to be able to run until my sore hamstring goes away.

  • Evening!

Byeck - a snooze with a book sounds heavenly! MC Hope your masters session goes well.

Well, my No.2 girl and I had a lovely time. Was cold, rain, hail, thunder and lightening, dark by the time we came back home along the trail and a wonderful 2hours together. image

So in the past 7 days I have:
    swum 94 lengths (1 3/4 miles)
    cycled 43 miles
    run 15 miles
    1 pilates class

I think tomorrow I'll just do a couple of hours of easy walking around London. Have and NCT study day so need to go in to head office.

  • chili - great training week, well doneimage what were you doing with your girl? walking? running? always good to spend time with the kids doing something nice

  • I ran 10 miles, she cycled. Talked the whole way non-stop about everything.  we were dressed properly and lack of wind meant the so the awful weather wasn't really a problem. Yes, with four girls all so close together in age, they (and me!) love having one-to-one time. image
