  • We had been trying for over 6 years.
  • DO NOT FEED THE TROLL.

  • Agree. Life must be pretty peachy for him

When you say responsibility for your actions - are you saying that a child is directly responsible for their diet and exercise regime where this is less than ideal? Isn't that the parents' responsibility, while the consequences fall entirely on the child?

So where do the murderers of Jamie Bulger fit in amongst this theory of yours? Did you notice that the parents got away scot free from any criticism (as far as I could tell by press coverage at the time). Shouldnt the parents have been jailed  for clearly failing in their parent responsibilities?

    I would summarise my position as;

Bad cases make bad law; we shouldn't seek to generalise from the Bulger case.

Those children were seriously, seriously disturbed. The perfectly normal instinct towards vengeance isn't entirely helpful when you sit back and think about it though, and what actually happened (detention, attempted rehabilitation and subsequent attempted identity change and protection) was probably the best choice in terms of sentencing. That it appears to have failed in at least one of their cases is awful but the attempt was the right thing to do.

We don't know what happened to their parents ultimately as their identities have also been changed, however I would hazard a guess that their lives have been comprehensively ruined. HOWEVER, the idea that they got away scott free from criticism is ridiculous, the home life provided by their parents (mothers more specifically) was specifically referenced in court on many occasions, and the judge laid significant moral responsibility at their doors. As they had not committed the crime, he couldn't very well lock them up.

  • Interesting arguments forming, but how you got from fat people to child killers in such a short step is a mystery. DF3 I agree with Cinders you are a knob (and I think it's intentional so you're allowed to be) but I agree with you on one comment though, intelligent (or even comical argument) falls flat whenever people turn to the troll or daily mail reader insults, these seem to be trotted out when the argument does not go a particular way.

  • No actually I called him a troll as he invades numerous threads lobs in hand grenades and then sits back no doubt chuckling at his insults winding up some poor person who thinks they are engaging with someone at something other than a moronic level.

He's not debating anything, just trying to stir up arguments. He exerts typical troll behaviour of trying to make a name for himself on the forum through such methods, which is normally to counter balance the fact that he'll be a complete non-entity in life. Narcissistic behaviour and stirring comments to gather attention to himself.

People like that ruin the worth of forums like these.

  • Clear and sound reasoning doesn't prevent you being a knob...

Lack of Viagra, causes mental health issues, which leads to suicide leading to a wife and 3 kids being left without a husband or father.... Glad it was just comic effect on your part
  • i don't have any trouble with david's arguments. they are pretty tame, for internet forums. standard fare. i'm sure he's a nice chap.

it's a physical thing. everytime I see his name I am sick in my mouth a wee bit. it's the weirdest thing. maybe a doctor can explain it.

There you go again, just because someone disagrees with you, does not entitle you to insult them, unless of course you're out of reasoned argument, stop doing it and use your reasoning.

  • Anyway, back to the matter at hand, Now that we've covered Trolling, the philosophy of publicly funded healthcare and the Bulger case, does anyone know anybody who's actually had a tummy tuck? Or anything else interesting to say about it?

I think his £3million townhouse in North London suggests he's not as unfunny as you may think.

I don't think that is any measure of his humour or not... Isn't it just a measure of his lack of taste ?

There is a rumour that DF3 has a better physique than Wikky Gervais

  • Naw, bet he looks like Gervais' Derek character!

  • OK. So. What alternatives are there to surgery? How much can you help the situation by filling yourself up with muscle? What if you started a really strict diet/exercise regime to become a body builder type, just to take this example to extreme. Do you reckon it could be done?
