totally new to these. my personal trainer has suggested I wear them when not running for recovery. any suggestions? happy to go not uber cheap if its worth it.
Depends on your budget ? Skins are very good but very expensive(a set of long tights will cost you around £60), lots of brands out there to choose from. I use More Mile products for things like socks(3 pairs for £9), compression socks(£5) etc they are cheap but dont be put off they really do the job. Check out ebay or start fitness.
As other people have mentioned, the premium brands are obviously good.
In terms of value, I have found that the Nike fit compression tights give up little if anything to the more expensive ones. You have to be careful though, because they look very similar to the bog standard Nike tights.
As they seem to be mainly for after running.,. I decided to go into tesco and buy a ??1 pair of tights that are smaller than your normal size squeeze into them and it has the same effect!!

PS dont judge any running kit by the price, its what works for you. Start cheap and work up .....
is there a 'standard' weartime - how long the compression is good for?

Above all, try them on before you buy them!
Only that you can run in them without getting arrested.
