They wouldn't ! But in T2 of a triathlon they make a big difference than trying to tie laces
So in a marathon, for example, I wouldn't need to stop and tie my laces. Although if I remember correctly shoe-lace tying is exempted from the DF3 'run a marathon' definition anyway, so no real advantage there.
You are allowed to tie your shoes once during a race ....... and once only, after that, its clearly incompetence on your part and you are disqualified.
Fair enough, rules are rules. I'll be stopping for water and chocolate anyway.
When will your official rules be released DF3? Can I have a copy before 21st April as I don't want to be running down the Mall only to be told I haven't actually run the race.

Like I did last time. But luckily they gave me the medal and the T-shirt anyway. Actually I was lucky to take part at all, I had an injury in the lead-up and had to have physio. Twice.

Certainly not running it, based on his definition .
Apparently it was not contentious
But it did get over 200 views
Or was that you checking up 200 times?
I hate you ....Feel better
Ah yes. I don't even aspire to read those. Only to tie the shoelaes of those that do.

You see - I didn't even know that was possible. How much faster do you reckon elastic laces would help me to run ?

Right curiosity has got the better of me as well as being stuck in bed unwell and nothing else to do...who is this guy DF3 ?
I'm pretty sure that like all great truths, they are universal
Will you need Garmin data to back it up?
