When should I run my next race ?

I am new to running and have just completed my first half last weekend. Can believe how much I enjoyed it and am keen to do another soon. Any ideas how long I should leave it before my next race ?

  • Someone once told me that you should take it easy for a number of days equivalent to the number of miles run. So no hard sessions for 13 days following a hm.

    However, I know that many people follow a long hard marathon programme with a flurry of pb smashing shorter races.

    One thing to consider is how much improvement you can make in two weeks of easy running though. Assuming that your intention is to improve your time. If you just enjoyed the run and would like to dp it again, then go for it.
