Onetit - kind offer thanks.  I've got the velco one too but it is missing one of its attachments.  Simon is convinced that the original rubber one is able to be glued.  He's off out to buy some a*se kicking super-glue and after the marathon I'll order a new one via Amazon.

     What model watch is it?

  • Hi all. Haven't had a chance to catch up.

Just had a fab 10 miler with RS, RR and TJB along the Thames. Just a fab group of people. Many thanks to all three of them for delaying the St Paul's set-off due my BA-induced lateness. And now, relax. Being on Paris!

  • Thanks yer_maj shall pop to my Drs on Tuesday to get my certificate stamped. Hope he doesn't charge me again!

DV my running number is 4951 and am running from the red pen. Hopefully my haircut on Thursday will help with my time.

I maybe a bit thick and late to the forum but why are people giving their phone numbers to ATM?

Thanks for everyone with their advice that I've picked up from trawling through this thread today. Has calmed me down a bit!

ATM is compiling a spreadsheet with names and numbers...   so you can catch up with friends in Paris if you wish to.   Its not compulsory..

Looks like Amazon do a spare in black and it's 'Prime' eligible - so presumably sold by themselves with one day delivery option.  That's .co.uk not .fr though.

  • Dan - but might walk up to the finish after a leisurely breakfast if I don't head off somewhere for the day.

  • hey DV I am in the pink pen and my number is 58012 - looking forward to my last longish run with ATM and Eggy tomorrow ... nothing like a we prequel to get the french juices flowing image

  • Same here Audrey , last long run. , I'm feeling very strange about running so little , last week was a 14 mile pace run , tomorrow only running 8 mile

Two years ago when I first started running, the thought of me ONLY running eight mile would have been absurd , could barely run one hundred yards
  • Hi DV, my bib number is 46570. Have decided to move to the back of the blue pen at the Expo but am currently registered in green

Having done all the training and feeling good, I think 3.30 is a realistic goal. If I started in the purple and felt good, I run the risk of being hindered by other runners.

I also like the idea of being positive and have new mantra--expect a miracle!

Downloaded the Paris 2013 App, took sometime. It doesn't have a medals table. If you haven't already posted your finish times,  Gold (Dream) Silver (Realistic) and Bronze (happy) , put them to the thread and I add them to the list (unless I forget).

    Today's Pop Quiz

    That’s What I Call Music – Album N° 9

Jacky Boxberger – Winner of the 9th  Paris Marathon

Adolf – 9 was his favorite number, he often shouted it when excited.

Bobby Charlton – wore the N° 9 shirt

    Porte Dorée – Kilometre N° 9

Nazgul – Lord of the Rings, 9 men were transformed into Nazguls (Ringwairths/Black riders)

Pont Neuf – really means New Bridge but neuf = 9, to keep the Paris connection.

Alemayehu Shumye – Finished 9th last year, sadly died in a car crash in January.

    NIN – Nine Inch Nails

    'Evening, all...wow! lots to read.

I can't send or receive messages thro' the forum.Anyone who wants me to add their number to the Mobiles list, please email me at atmparis75 at yahoo dor com  * I need your email, anyway, to circulate the list. Relax, I'm really old and will forget it immediately...* Stan, the idea of the list is so that no one suffers the loneliness/social stigma  of the solo coffee, en English-only crisis, meltdown at the Expo without the help of a French volunteer/conscript  to help etc etc. Of course I won't bombard you with late-night calls. I only phone DLR after midnight..*

image I like the quiz. I had to work backwards from all the answers, though.

According to a fancy new neon sign in the centre of glasgow, it will be minus 3 tomorrow, Eggy 'n' Audrey..

    .

It feels so wrong and yet so right.

  • Just back from the thread trot round central London with RS, TJM and IM3. Good chat - makes the miles fly past. We also thought we were duty bound to train for the 'drinking in an Irish pub after the run' part of the process. And I now seem to have 18 chocolate HCBs, which may have had something to do with TJB dragging me into M&S by the ear and going 'Buy These! Buy These!'. They are very good image .

Have fun tomorrow ATM, Eggy and Audrey.

I've relocated myself into the purple pen, so here's the list again.
