Funny you should mention James Cracknell Princess, he was my undoing last year. I went past him at 25 miles having followed his 3 hour pace group for a few miles. No sooner I passed him than I got cramp in my thigh and had to slow down- he ended up beating me by a minute vo so.
Don't worry SP13, those goals will always be there and will wait for you. It took me 15 years and 13 attempts to break the 3 hour barrier.
Pork Crackling... I used to think it was yummy, but now I am conscious of my body fat ratio.
Did my first run in 13 days at lunchtime, a 5.5k race with my work colleagues. After 20 days of feeling ill with a cold, my voice is starting to retun but I still feel crappy and congested. Ah well. Managed to come home first but nearly 10% slower than usual.
Just checked the VLM GFA criteria for my age - 3:15! Pfffff. I'll just have to try a bit harder. A 7% improvement is 'all' I need. Easy ....??
Simon, my mara times went liked this (I hope this encourages you): Age 39 - 3h39 Age 41 - 3h24 Age 42 - 3h12 Age 42½ - 2h58 Age 43 - 2h56 Age 44 - 2h54
Anyone know if the Metro tickets are time limited..? I bought loads of them and have come back with a bunch... if they will be valid for use next year I'll keep them, otherwise they will be recycled. Any ideas..? ATM..?
Idea? Yeah...send them to me.. I'll be there afore ye...The last thing I do is buy a ticket from the airport back into Paris...and stick it in my purse.

Yet Maj - I've got a nose dribbling, snot gobbling, multi-sneeze stinker of a cold. On the plus side I caught it from a woman in work, so at least it's not Man Flu.
RR - You were asking about the Wikipedia page? Open up ATMs album and page back a bit.
I've also had an email from one of my favourite people that has lifted my spirits somewhat and made me realise that the race was not the important thing about the weekend, it was just the reason for being there.
I've got a temperature, putting kids to bed, then putting myself to bed.
Hope ur ok MM. Yes my hands were inside my shorts but not my pants ATM, Vassing up my inner thighs, and putting on a little display for the cameras and DLR.
My muscle aches, tendon aches are gone. My right foot bottom of heel hurts to walk on. Hope its not too injured. I'm gonna have a run on Sunday if the cold clears, nothing too strenuous mind.
I only ended up with 3 official race photos and two them you can see I am clearly crying like a baby and look miserable. The other one I bought today for 12 euros download. The sky is blue and the quality is good. Much cheaper than skanky marathonfoto.com
Anyone here use Jelly Babies for in race fuelling? I'll be using them for the first time this year. Tried them in my long runs and they seem to agree with me much more than gels.
I was just reading the marathon nutrition article on RW and it says to take 60g of carbs per hour. That would be 10 jelly babies an hour! I only ever tried 4 per hour in training.
Just wondering if any of you use them and if so what your consumption rate is?

glorious weather, tempted to jog, but will save it for tomorrow.
seen some video clips.....annoying pile up at 35k which stopped me in my tracks and caused me to pull up and stagger to the finish, but that's life.
almost certain on barcelona. Bring it on

Hopefully I'll start to feel better soon.
Amazing how the mind works. I'm disappointed with a PB and TD is disappointed in finishing first.
We really are our own biggest competitors.
I'll just have to try a bit harder. A 7% improvement is 'all' I need.
Easy ....??
Well done on your 1st place. TD.
Same for me Simon. 3:15 for Boston though, and if I can hang on for 2 years goes up to 3:25.
Lads, if you want to borrow the Paris frocks and change your names....
Meantime, I'm uploading photos to the Gallery...First, https://plus.google.com/photos/117729082344820870557/albums/5805084366828840641/5865595168322840594?banner=pwa

Just saying what's possible. Age 45 - fallow year
I'm intrigued Tricky. That's some progression. What do you put the improvement down to?
DLR.. its graphs... as Tricky became more of an expert at Excel and the generation of incomprehensible graphs, his marathons times naturally dropped.
Rumour has it that Haile Gebralasse is a Professor of Excel...
You know what you need to do...................
hard graft?

Jimbob, what exactly where you doing down there?
39 - 4.28
40 ?
41?
41?
sub 3.45 possible then
My times have been :
Oct '11 3:54
April '12. 3:42
Oct'12. 3:36
Apr '13. 3:29
I think I need to graph that and then extrapolate....
On the plus side, I could enter Boston next year as it's qualifying time is 3:30.
If all else fails I'll borrow your dress ATM? Err, could I borrow it anyway?
I don't want, anybody else, when i think about you I .....

But, no, keep them. They'll work , next year.
Simon, you'll look gorgeous. Gorgeous! * Surely , someone else loves 'The Producers '?*
You cannot beat "Springtime for Hitler" for sheer entertainment value...
ATM: He is really and truly applying vaseline provided by DLR. I suppose we can just be thankful DLR didn't apply it for him...
I've had a sh*t day, in case anybody's interested.
Wassup, Maus?
I think I'm getting a cold. Bugger.
aww... what's up mausy...?
By contrast... I've had a super day... and the sun is shining here too...! yay!!
Mausy - c'mon, spill.

Aha, TD's graphs become self fulfilling
I did offer.
I fel the mutual greasing up brought us closer. In Berlin I suspect we may run holding hands.
