Will keep trying. A friend got in using this link, but when I tried it lets me register an account and then says "sorry this stream is closed" entry1.enteronline.org/Login.aspx?StreamID=5012
Charley - did you get to put your card details in? I tried to be clever and changed the StreamID to =5013
I got to a page to enter my user name & password, but then it said "click here to pre-register your interest in the event" ... nothing about actually entering!
I got through this morning after 30min of refreshing, when a friend sent me the back-door link. Then others told me they shut it down about 5min after I registered.
What a total clusterf*ck though - who thought it was a good idea to switch from last year's ballot system? I mean, they knew from last year's demand that this would be a popular event! Absolute incompetence from the IT providers.
I've been trying and failing all morning as well. Just tried the link xine267 posted and tried without the StreamID bit but only got to register my 'interest' and not actually enter.
I'm glad it's not a ballot system after my failings to get into London Marathon but don't understand how these days they haven't got the technology to deal with the amount of entrants. Tickets for the Anniversary Games sold out in 75 minutes and that was about 200,000 tickets over the 3 days - this is 'only' 10,000.
I'll leave it for a while as website does say it's closed entries until later.
I kept F5 ing this morning and got through to the entry page at around 10:15, then crash, then the account registration, crash, then payment, crash. I eventually got a transaction successful page and an entry ID number, also a payment confirmation number but no confirmation email, I guess because they've had to take the server down.
I hope that means that I got a place and wish everyone else the best of luck!
It seems that systems were not talking to each other, so you will have an entry from the entry system but it's not yet in the other system. All got a bit messy!
I didn't get a confirmation email either once I'd eventually got through - however, if you email this address info@nationallotteryrun.com with your name and receipt number, they will be able to confirm it for you (I heard back within an hour or two, apparently their inbox is working better than the website!).
Good luck and keep on hitting refresh in the meantime!
I'm surprised they even managed to shift 2,500 places still in the time the site was up with the amount it was messing around!
I was refreshing like mad (and no doubt contributed to the site falling over as a result) but didn't have any luck - I'll be gutted if I miss out when it comes back online!
Got on at 9am and after a few hitting F5 eventually got through and paid the entry. Had a email confirming saying:

Been to the Olympic Park for Olympics, Paralympics and recently to the Orbit Tower. With this and going to the Anniversary Games the week after. Going to look forward returning. One thing to say, the park will be a hell of a lot different to last summer.
I got myself a place just before it crashed but still trying to fix up rest of family for Family Run. Can't be long before it's fixed surely.
You sound as obsessed as me runnerman. I went up the Orbit a week or so ago too. Highly recommended - here's the address for any interested folk http://noordinarypark.co.uk/
It's back up for the full run, family run is re-opening on Monday. This is from their front page:
High Demand
Nova International, the organisers of the National Lottery Anniversary Run, are currently experiencing high volumes of traffic to this website.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
The Family Run will reopen on Monday 29th April at 10am.
Applications for the Family Run have been postponed as people had been mistakenly applying for the Family Run (1.5 miles tbc) when then intended to apply for the Anniversary Run (5 miles). The majority of places in the Family Run are still available.
I been around the park a few times after the games. Its a weird place right now with aquatics centre without the stands, the water polo, basketball arena and hockey centre all gone. Whatever way, come July it will be a lot different to last July.

Not just me then - I have tried all morning but to no avail - .
Keep refreshing/opening tabs - I've managed to get 2 soots by frantic F5ing!

Managed to get 4 entries in by using the back end URL, rather than the front end site that keep failing.Try removing the StreamID bit??? that may work

Thanks Rachel, tried that but I just get into a page with my account details and can't go any further
Organisers have just tweeted:
"Due to high demand entries to the run have closed temporarily. The run has NOT sold out. We will keep you updated & please check back later."
Thanks Charley, I guess I'll just keep checking!
Soooooooooooo frustrating!
Full event was 27.50 GBP IIRC, there is also the option of a family/team run which is 7 GBP per team member.

Thanks for the heads up on the price, have decided to support a local 5 mile race instead - about £20 cheaper.
I'm still trying!

I just rang Nova International and "they're working on it" - hope to have it up and running again soon but it's not sold out.
I too can only cope with one ballot and that'll be London on Monday!

I didn't even know this existed until I saw this thread, so thanks for the heads up
I've been refreshing the page ever since, sounds like a great event.
Martin,
they're saying on their twitter to send them an email with your confirmation number and they will confirm back. https://twitter.com/TNLAR/status/327388953240027136
