Need to decide on shoes - Saucony Triumph 9 or Hurricane 14?

Hi, after spending 3 years of not so active life I have decided to focus on my health. I don't want to lose any weight rather I want to build stamina. I did a bit of research on buying a new pair of running shoes but couldn't decide on which one to buy. I am actually looking for a pair of shoes which is shock absorber as I don't want to harm my knee joints in the long run.

A little detail about me: I am 5ft 9in tall. I weigh 71Kgs / 156lbs and I will be running/jogging on the roads. My feet are also a bit narrow.

These are the shoes I am considering right now;

Saucony Powergrid Triumph 9, Saucony Powergrid Hurricane 14 and Saucony Progrid Guide 5.

Can anyone please suggest me which is the best option for me?

Thanks

  • Best advice I can give is to go to a specialist running store to get a gait analysis done to find out your running style.

    Never buy a pair of trainers based on the make, model or colour!

    Invest in a pair that is right for you. Also buy 2 pairs if you can, to alternate between the two.

  • Agree with GJG

    Running shoes are the most important piece of kit.

    Go to a store for a video Gait Analysis - these are normally free if you buy the shoes. Go with an open mind as to what brand you get - the important thing is they are right for your running style

  • My feet are wide and I wear Saucony, so try some on as you have narrow feet. I've never had gait analysis done, but I'm a firm believer in making sure shoes fit!!
