jr is off to see Swindon v Brentford on Bank Holiday Monday and I would like to do the journey with him (public transport)
i guess we will get there around 3'ish and be leaving approx 6:30.
Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to amuse myself whilst the game is on? I would prefer indoor based as the weather will not be guaranteed.
Is there a pool nearby? Arts Centre? Cinema? Etc
Any help/advice/suggestions would be welcome

Is going to the game absolutely out of the question?
Puffy Junior went there a couple of seasons ago, he's not hard to please but he said it's a hole. No offence Brentfordians.
I'm not in the least bit interested in football so to watch the game would be mind-numbing torture (and I don't love Jr THAT much )
David never went further than the football ground obviously
Depending what floats your boat there's the Musical Museum and Steam Museum on Kew Bridge Road and Kew Gardens just over the other side of the river. The number 65 bus which stops outside the ground will get you to all of them.
Or you could just get off on the north end of Kew Bridge and take a walk along the Thames at Chiswick.
Leave?
Drive north and don't look back
Cant you go to the Nylon shop ?
Syon House isn't far away, but you have to pay to get in both the gardens and the house. Osterley Park is nice, entrance to the park is free and you can get in the house without charge if you're an NT member. Walk down to Kew Bridge and over the bridge and I'm sure you'll find a coffee shop or something.
True. And I've just remembered there's a locally famous tea rooms called Newens just before you get to Kw Gardens:

Which just goes to prove DF3 knows as much about the Brentford area as he does about running...
I've never actually been there I just happen to have superior local knowledge
Best of luck in the playoffs, you're certainly the best of the play off candidates!
Screamapillar - all your ideas sound fab, Never realised Kew Gardens was so close. And the tea rooms definitely float my boat
Thanks to Peter too for his suggestion. If the weather is good I am defo up for a walk, but would like contingency plans for wet weather
Schmunkee, providing the traffic is OK the tea rooms are about 10 minutes by bus from Brentford FC and Kew Gardens about a 5 minute walk further on from there. The entrance is on the opposite side of the road.
On the way back the bus stops pretty much outside the main gate.
Have fun!
I can see myself going armed with my kindle and knitting
Ah, I believe that my friend, Mr. Rankin, has written a trilogy based around Brentford. There are 7 books in total (so far - never say never) in this trilogy. i'm sure he has mentioned lots of fun and exciting places to visit like the old gasworks, the Flying Swan (which may not be in Brentford at all), and the allotments.

I got an answer for you.
Robert Rankin The Crown and Anchor pub in the High Street, best beer in Brentford, a visit to the Butts Estate, glorious Regency architecture and a trip to the library, Pooley's bench is outside and it has a little plague dedicated to my books on it. Have nice trip
Schmunks - I can meet up with you for tea and cake if you want.
Are you not elsewhere this weekend?
Back on Sunday night. I'll text you.
Here's a wet weather suggestion. http://www.watermans.org.uk/about/watermans.aspx
