Hi there,
I'm planning to register for the VLM 2014. However, I don't know if I should enter via championship or GFA. The thing is that I ran 1h14 at the Bath half this year but I don't know if the championship criteria will be the same as last year (sub 1h15 on the HM). Also, I'm currently unattached, but I'm planning to become a member of a club very soon.
On the other hand I also ran a GFA qualifying time in 2012, but not as good as my HM time (3h06).
Is there anybody on the forum who can suggest me what to do ? The thing is that I would like to try to beat my PB (2h33) so it would be nice if I was in a good start pen...
Thanks !

Enter as GFA when that opens and then ring up later when the championship criteria become available and upgrade your entry (having first joined a club).
Thanks literatin !
Do you know if the GFA entries usually fill up quickly (i. e. should I spend the night on my computer waiting that the entry system opens) ?
Cheers.
GFA is a guaranteed entry, so you just have to meet their deadline. I can't see the Champs criteria changing, but either way you can make your mind up when they confirm the details. Go Champs, race with Mo!
Thanks Phil ! I had almost forgotten about Mo... It makes it even more exciting
I would join a club and go champs. Even if you got pen 1 off GFA it might restrict you at your pace
Running wise, you'd be fine starting on either, but there's a better ratio of toilets to runners on the Champs start than the Fast Good for Age. Also, there'll be more people of your standard to run with on the Champs start.
Denis - Champs entry is definitely the better option IMO.
