Running events in Turkey?

Hello, Sorry this is a really vague question - does anyone know if there are any races (any distance) in Western Turkey? (Istanbul down to the touristy resorts)

Have been to the Aegean region twice now & enjoyed it so much I'd like to try and go a couple of times next year - perhaps once tying it in with a race.

I think there was the Istanbul marathon in 2012, but i'm not sure the country as a whole has much in the way of running races or running clubs (about 99% of the locals seem to smoke!)  most people I saw running were tourists, although the resort we stayed in did host a large international cycling race.
