Hello, haven't been on here in eons but "it is time"...I have a VERY physically strenous weekend tomorrow and the day after. We start off with the bleep test, the last time I did it, it almost killed me. What I need help with is this.....what should I eat for breakfast and what should I drink to help me get through this. I am double the age of 90% in my class and can't show myself up......anyone???!?!?!? eg. energy drinks, do they help? Red Bull etc or should I steer will clear....thanks!

What have you been using during your training for this ?
I would suggest it might be a bit late to be trying new stuff
Too late to risk anything new.
Just use whatever you usually do for your other similar sessions.
I've only just started training....hence it's going to do me in tomorrow . I've been told stick to carbs but don't eat close to starting, as it'll slow you down. If someone was preparing for a run, what would you eat before to maximise your performance?
Apart from the bleep test, which you should be able to do from scratch food wise what else do you have to do tomorrow??
Martial arts/ self defence stuff
well even if you do well, the beep test will only last 10-15 minutes. your muscles have enough glycogen to go for a good 90 mins. assuming its in the morning just have porridge and a banana a couple of hours before and water.
OK, thanks for that I think the problem that I had before was that I ate too close to exercising and was sick . Just don't want that to happen again.....as you can understand.
I wouldn't eat anything for at least the two hours before very strenuous exercise
Thanks for all the help. I had a brilliant day, sailed through everything. Guess the little training that I did do certainly helped as I felt much better.
