I've got some Concurve Oslo's for really cold - v. nice quality thermal tight.
And a pair of Helly Hansen fly pant tights which are really a base layer I suppose but just as good with a pair of shorts over the top (in case of escapeage thro the fly ;-))
Like 'em both really...and learn to appreciate the figure hugging supportiness of tights!.....oooh missus.
I tried on a pair of tights in a shop and Mrs RB ROFL...big style...sooo embarrassing..I have to say that if she hadn't been there and done that then I probably would have bought them even though I thought they looked a bit...well...you know...
I think it must be and age thing when you start thinking more about warmth/comfort/support and less about what you look like!
The worst part is that I run using the Pose style ie on the forefoot with rapid steps. I got my kids to video me so I could improve my technique. When we watched the video I remarked that I ran like mincer. Little did I realise they would repeat that comment to all their mates and their mates' parents the next day at school. I have no streetcred :-(
I'm trying to use a kind of Pose style in my running...semi-successfully..again, it does make you look a bit odd, especially at slower speeds...
Percy..I like the ninja idea..I've really got to give this some thought...and maybe I might get some wolf whistles from the laydeez instead of laffs....
Got some major heckling re. my "bra"
Back on the tights looking silly issue - If you're tallish with long legs you can prob. get away with it. It's the shorter peeps that look like Max Wall.
Miles makes smiles.
Progression
They're much better than tracksters on a wet day as they dry out quicker when the rain stops. Tracksters leave you feeling wet and clammy all day.
Nike dry fit are my favourite.
NRG...haven't seen the video I just read the website stuff and got an idea from there...how do you find it??
I'm quite happy to been seen in the supermarket in mine.
Then again I've long legs & tall, so yes it does help.
I hate tracksters.
Only problem I have is come the end of winter all the hairs have been worn off my legs in place's!
I hope to organise a Training Day for all the forum Poseurs sometime in the New Year. Let me know if you're interested. The wearing of tights will be optional ;-)
let me tell you - I am big - no messing (those who know me will tell ya)
I was in my Sugoi tights all day - I rode into the office in them as they are lovely and warm. quiet day - no need to take change of kit. get into office suddenly realised I had to interview someone - which I did still wearing my tights!!!! weird but what the hell.
went to the shops in my tights and quite frankly couldn't give a toss what I looked like. got stared at yep - but what the hell. people never seen fat ballet dancerss??
get real - get tights
(and tracksters are naff anyway)
Got them in sale I seem to rembember...;-)
Absolutely right FB, practicality/functionality beats fashion/style every time.
But there's nothing to beat a pair of shorts if the legs are nice and chunky...
I run around Deal in shorts and have nae problems. I'm that hard. ;-)
The pity is that it starts off with furtive tight-wearing at night, and before you know it it's knickers and bras in daylight and nighties to bed.
Just say no!
That's last time I get Mrs NRG-B to buy my kit.
Can someone tell me how I can get rid of Monty Python's "I'm a Lumberjack and I'm OK" tune out of my head - PLEASE!
