spotted jolly roger 2 in the cafe prior to the start of today's Brian Robinson challenge, needless to say after 75 miles of horizontal rain we did not arrive at the finish at the same time , just happy to have got there and nice to bump in to the Northern contingent.....
Who was the pirate cycling North on the A23 at Salfords at lunchtime today? He didn't look as though he was enjoying life, but then again the hailstones probably weren't helping ...
That would have been me. Hail wasn't great at all, although it didn't last long. I think it was round about then I realised that the logical route home was up Reigate Hill and I was riding fixed. If you thought I looked miserable you should have seen me 20 minutes later!
Still, the outward leg to Rusper and around to Turners Hill had been great.

hahaha. maybe i should change my name . nice to see you Citizen, and yes it was a hellish challenge!
Busy? I almost managed not to see a single runner (bar those lying on stretchers!) Fortunatly no pirate spotting in our tent
Set your tent up in the bar - that should do it.
*Sniggers* Sadly I'm a terrible bargirl. Been there. Done that. Dropped 12 glasses of champagne!
Cougie- it's a pleasure. We get men who have temperatures that would be fatal in less than 30 mins. Instead we save their lives and end up discussing what marathon to do next! Very rewarding and makes a change from dealing with alcohol related probs (although the level if confusion and vomiting make it hard to tell the difference!)
Probably about the same as girls on a winters night on the Quayside in Newcastle - luckily they have a mini-skirt and crop top to keep the weather out.
I do believe I've spotted Funkin in this weeks's Singletrack Midweek Mini Movies, to be more precise at the start of the Catford Hill Climb video and about kidway through, sitting taking photos!!
'twas indeed Funkin, LS. We go to the Catford Hill Climb & the Bec Hill Climb on the same day, have done the past couple of years. They are great for shouting and spectating. Funkin has been over and ridden Catford as part of a longer ride but says he doesn't fancy doing the climb on race day. Which means he'll probably do it

Medic girl
pray tell, what temperature are you talking about here? Serious question.

I understand. I've been as far north as Wakefield on a Friday night (shudders). I'm not sure whether it was the legs or the snow that was whitest.
Pirate spotting....
Stratford Half Marathon... runner 6550...time 2:07:16.. Pirate name unknown, only the pseudonym is listed, as per birth certificate. Photo on line.
Squishy?
Ah, yes.
She was dressed in (near) civvies when I met her. I didn't know she'd been up for it.
I suppose that having the same surname as Crashie would give it away. Poor thing.
Over 40 - normal is 36.5-37.5. As one Dr kindly told the parents of a young chap: you are cooking your insides at that temperature.
On the more cheery side: that's what water/ice/sponge stations are for Stay cool kids!
It's a clue; 'twas indeed my dear Vife
sorry about that Jammy ! Genuine mistake , but what's in a name?

and on the subject of the Catford Hill Climb, why don't they have a Catford Hill Descent time trial - I might be quite good at that!!
I certainly wont be signing up for that one !!!!
