Would love to do a marathon in Nov/Dec/Jan - preferably a quiet one that isn't full. Early Oct is a very busy time for me so lochness etc are out. And Abingdon full
Pudge - interesting one, how many days did you sign up for? I'm tempted now....
Just the one Dustin, though I believe that quite a few people have signed up for the full five days. If the course is anything like the one earlier this year, then it will be well worth doing.
Also might be worth checking out the Enigma marathons.
The current one's late in the year are already full, but they ran over Christmas last year, so maybe they will again this year?
There will also be a christmas enigma this year but they havent opened it yet. It's normally around 14-16 December if I remember correctly. I'll be at a fair few Enigma events. It's a great confidence booster and allows you to drop off/pick up clothing if you're cold.
I've just signed up for the Porstmough Marathon, looks like an interesting tough trail course so it'll definately mean you'll earn your Christmas dinner

Luton is early December I believe ?
I just checked the website, and there isn't a Luton marathon this year - the council is digging up the start/finish area. Any other ideas?
Oh!! handy
Beachy Head, late October, cannot reccomend highly enough
Portsmouth Coastal?
Is Beachy Head mega hilly - cycled round there last year... Will look at Portsmouth, when is it?
Thanks all
Porstouth is December 22nd....I'm looking at this one
A winter marathong? That sounds tough, uncomfortable and very very chilly.
I've signed up for this one...

I ran a similar race put on by the same organiser earlier this year. It was brutal, but brilliant, all rolled into one.
Portsmouth is excellent.
Are you going to be there this year HC?

It was definitely hard last year but a lot of good reports about it. Being in Pompey there's always a small issue with the wind/rain.

Also Saxon Shore is in December. Great crowd as well. http://www.saxon-shore.com/
