Rafi - mine fitted fine too, just that the post race week will make me forget what I've done, unless I'm really good about it and pack it on Sunday morning...
Glad you got it fixed mouse! Ive been cursing the last hour taking it apart, its still not in the box... im making similar threats about only doing races you can drive to!
Can I just ask a very stupid question? Sorry, I'm tired. Those flying Monarch, I am interpretting the information on this page as meaning a bike has an allowance of 20kg. Do you concur?
Mouse - that is what I believe to be correct. The other week I got my bike just below 20kg and monarch were fine. Actually, they didn't even weigh the bike. I just checked in as normal, they then tagged my bike bag and told me to take it to the oversized baggage dropoff point. The guy there just scanned the barcode and let it roll on through into the black hole that is Gatwick Airport. A few hours later the bag appeared in Lanzarote.
I shall be doing exactly the same again tomorrow afternoon.
"Please make every effort to protect your bicycle - we recommend the use of a bicycle bag with padding for added protection. Handlebars must be turned inwards, pedals removed or turned inwards, tyres deflated and the bicycle must be wrapped in plastic or cardboard. Maximum weight of 20kg per bike."
Ive flown monarch for the last 4 times out here. I have never had my bike box weighes
But i am paranoid so keep it as low as possible. Its 23kg and no one bats an eyelid. I put my bike (duh) pedals bike bottles helmet in there but thats it
You should get 20kg for your normal luggage (they do weigh that) and 10kg for your hand luggage.
I had my bike tools etc in my luggage and wet suite in my hand luggage. You can always put peddals etc in yourr luggage if you have tje spare weigjt.....
We are in room 13. Feel free to give us a knock if we are in on arrival
Route 66 for a pint tomorrow night? Or hotel bar for the travel weary?
Oh and lots of serious looking english triathletes have arrived.
We need to lower the tone
However i've been out in lycra or neoprene every day so i am looking way too serious.....

I had a similar question and I have emailed them asking and have not had a reply as yet
I did find another piece of info that suggested 32kg which is the usual amount so I am going with that

There appears to be a differnce in weight between chartered and scheduled flights

Im 1682, but still injured. Im still coming but realistically will probably pull out after bike.
I can walk ok but seen physio tonight and been advised that trying to run could cause long term injury. Im more than slightly pissed off.
Froggy ... you could keep OC company on the walk
And quite possibly me too!!
Has your leg not fallen off yet then Rafi?
