Hi i am going away and want to take a pair of trainers that i can run in but also i can walk around in and look cool..... i was looking at the nike Gyakusou but they are £110. Bit pricey but if anyone has some ideas that would be great. Cheers Sarah
Hahaha! I assumed that this was a joke - there might be dubious claims about the benefits of running in these things, but surely nobody actually thinks that they look cool!?! They make you look like a hobbit with dirty feet! (And your feet will stink if you wear them all day!).
If you like Gyakusou, you could have a look at these...
There is a very young, trendy 'alternative' boy at my circus class who wears vibrams as normal street wear, so I assume they must be 'cool' even if they do look like hobbit shoes.
As an alternative, I saw a bloke on the metro wearing these once.

With wings like those, why did he need to take the metro?
To fit that bill I just customised some ones in the Nike store (Nike Free 3v4 and LunarGlide) being as I liked Nikes fit for runnign shoes - then you can get exactly what you want.

dubious? i think not, there is a LOT of very sound science and evidence to support barefoot running, people tend to be a tad over evangelical about it for sure, and its certainly not for everyone, but dubious claims they are not.
and feet stink? not so, ive worn vibrams as everyday shoes for hiking and walking (i dont run in them) for years, they dont smell any more or less than my running shoes, and they dont stink either.
i just find that link hard to believe as real, there are 1000's of "dicount nike" shoes available, but none on the actual nike website or any link from it, and when they are a current range and being sold in colours that were never available frm nike direct, it looks very suspicious to me, vibrams suffer the same "real looking but actually fake" websites selling their stuff at a massive discount, significantly higher than anything the brands ever do even in their own clearance sales.

The first rule of running club is "Only wear your running shoes for running!"
