Might sound a bit pervy but it's a genuine question! I'm a laaaady and run in normal everyday pants but they keep rubbing around the waistband and under my bum. Can you get specialist running pants??
ok will have a look at them, what do you wear under running tights though? Most of my running wardrobe is running tights, don't like the idea of going commando.
I had awful bother with chaffing on long runs and was advised to get lycra shorts for under, I settled on compression shorts off sport shoes.com for £10 and they are great,I ran a mara few wks ago with them on without a problem, hope this helps.
I don't notice the chaffing until I get in the shower then it really stings . compression shorts sound great, I don't have to worry about them riding up!
Yea they great job, they also wick the sweat away from you to keep you cool.the ones I got where puma £10 bargin! Ordered a few more pairs the next day.
Buy them from Decathlon at £10 for two pairs. A bit like a stripped down version of compression shorts I suppose, only not as long in the leg and not quite as much compression.
I have Marks and Spencers seamless (no VPL) black pants for running. They're not sports pants, but because they have very thin seams I've found them the most comfortable pants to wear under running tights. You can buy them online pretty cheap.
I keep trying different things but have been most comfortable wearing nothing underneath...made for a tricky moment last weekend though- had a 21k mountain trail run that was sopping wet, full of mud and debris (and cows)...so when we got back to my mates truck everyone stripped off their shorts to pull on something warm and dry. Just in time I stopped myself and fell behind the open door laughing my head off so maybe compression shorts would be a good idea.

Nice find pudge, gonna order few pairs them, cheers.

Get those shorts that have a built-in liner and don't wear pants.

well, lots of people just do go commando under running tights: http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/forum/gear/pants-or-commando-/246362.html
but I just wear my normal pants and don't get chafing. But my 'normal everyday pants' might be different from yours.
I wear these (for running and cycling):

Is it me or do we have this discussion once a fortnight now?
Yes we do, but who doesn't love thinking about underwear?
Ooh, perhaps we should suggest it to Annie RW for today's 'daily discussion' topic.
Depends who's wearing the underwear
Well, I see there is a new thread on men's underwear just below, if that is what excites you.
No, I'm so over that -
Pictures. We need pictures!

+1 for M and S 'No VPL' - they're brill, fabric is micro fibre, so no chafing, come in all styles.
I just go for running tights/shorts with nothing underneath - there're gussetted and designed to be worn that way - aren't they?
only women!!!
Only women what?
