Hi!
Runners World's number 1 "Kick's in the butt" tip is to start blogging - So I have...! Does anybody else on here have an active blog? I'd like to follow a few to draw motivation from them not only to motivate me to run, but to keep updating my blog!
Does anybody have any "My first running blog" tips, do's/don'ts etc that would help me out at all?
The URL is in my signature!
Thanks!
Griff

I don't have a blog but was thinking of starting to log down my experiences actually. It would be nice to have a training record to look back on in a few years time other than just my Runkeeper app logs!
Yeah, it is nice to see progress (however small it may be!!) and it's good to go back and look at how you did 2 months ago in comparison to how you're getting on today! I'd recommend it!
Just realised i dont have a signature! My blog can be found here: http://runhardorgohome.wordpress.com/
And 20 odd years later
🙂
Since I only took up running in the digital age (2009) all of mine is on an excel spreadsheet which doesn't look as impressive. Although it does make me look like I'm working when I'm just filling in my last weeks training.
Addicited to running apps on my phone, I get excited after each run to see exactly what I've done! Although have something written down might be nice aswell, I feel a new notebook coming on!
+1 for MS Excel.
BG -- I'm not knocking your idea but do you really think anyone other than your friends and family are going to read it? I might be on my own here but I have absolutely no interest in reading the mad ramblings of other runners. How many running blogs, out of the millions that must be out there, do you regularly read?
Bobby, you might find this article about running blogs interesting.
Particularly the line: "Non-runners struggle to comprehend why anyone would willingly head out on a cold, wet Sunday morning to run around for hours on end and, similarly, it's difficult for people who don't read or write running blogs to see the appeal."

I for one enjoy blogging and I've met a lot of nice peopel through it. And that's all that matters. Whether anyone other than my mum and cat read it or not.
Same here! I'm training for my first marathona nd wanted to help others doing the same poundingpavements.com
I have literally just started one, you gave me the idea. Mine is ..

Sounds like a good idea, maybe I'll do the same.
On a side note, which apps would you reccommend to keep track on ones workout?
Ella mentioned Runkeeper, any others people here are using?
I use runkeeper as its easy to use and tells me everything I need to know and even gives me the map of where I have run
