@Screampillar - How is asking why the OP cares either negative or obtuse?  I'm neither, but I have no time for petty whiners who think they're entitled to whinge their way through life without being offended.

At what point did asking a question become whinging?  Have to say, Buttercup has never once come across as someone who whinges their way through life and I've yet to see The Little Greeny offended, despite the best efforts of some.  You however - predictably adolescent and rude.

So 2 people agree with me? Hm...time to work on your image I think Intermanaut, better give these guys a call:

  • I dont see why caring about something is so bad?

OK Page 3 probably is the thin end of the wedge of gender politics, however whats so wrong about caring about the general subject of it?

It's people who dont care about stuff that let those with power ride roughshod over everyone else.

    It's airbrushing that does that

  • I don't get why The Sun  has been singled out - what about mags like Nuts and the other one I can't remember off the top of my head?

I agree. I think that in general more people probably need to care about more stuff.

My pet peeve is people that don't bother to recycle despite the council making it really easy for them. How do I know? Because the bags get ransacked by cats and foxes and you can see the contents - oh and the same people don't clear it up when it happens either. That's someone else's job image

  • The sun is a household newspaper isn't it.........I presume NUTS is sold as a mans magazine and so isn't left on the kitchen work top and in cafees for people to peruse...

Loaded? They have been getting plenty of flak too recently - one group wants them to be taken off supermarket shelves.

  • I actually have no idea what Nuts has in it so I can't comment. What does it have in it? I guess if I buy porn I know what I'm buying but a newspaper that is left round the house or the barbers or Starbucks is another matter.

  • Are you saying you use actually Starbucks? Burn the witch! imageimage

  • Ok other campaigns are having a go at Loaded but there does seem to be at least one that's just about The Sun.  I'm pretty sure last time I had my hair cut (admittedly a few years ago now) they had Nuts/Loaded.

The Sun apparently has 2.5 million female readers so they can't be that fussed.

  • I do agree that censorship isnt the answer - I am glad that protesters are going to stockists and advertisers rather than calling for censorship (at least thats what they were doing last time I checked). Might encourage a bit of corporate responsibility as well (though I know its all about PR and ultimately sales really)

  • Did I say I use actually Starbucks Yoda?

I wonder what Tesco will pay me to work the checkout topless ?

If it means you stop going bottomless and pressing your ass against the plastic screen, I suspect they will.

A green voter, from "an intelligent community" who checks out the beaches wltm a Sun reader.

And I thought you were a classic Tory voting Sun reader, complaining about PC politicians trying to deprive you of your topless teenagers.

  • So you were wrong then Canute. What point is it you're trying to make?

I'm not offended by a pair of tits but wonder why it has to be some sort of daily ritual for some people. Really, how do the target audience react to page 3?

    That's a hard one.

    (carefully typed)

  • They call it a family newspaper, but it has boobs on page 3. Normally that type of material would be top shelf stuff. It's about time that they scrapped the tits on page 3. This is the 21st century for goodness sake.

Not that it would bother Murdoch and his media empire. Morality is the last thing on his mind, as was shown by the Leverson enquiry.

    Just quotin.

    Can you work him out?

  • You'll never see a nipple in the Daily Express.
