I have Ronhill trail microlight and v. pleased with it. As the name suggests it's very light and quite breathable. Other people praise montane featherlight
I have a Cape Storm - folds into its own pocket so ultra portable. I rinse it in the shower after a run and it's perfect again in a couple of hours. Love it so much I wish I'd bought two now .
+1 on the Montane featherlite (I have two). Lightweight, packs small, reasonably water repellent (showerproof) as a bonus - water repellency can be renewed using Nikwax washin stuff as well.
Thanks everyone, looks like a Montane it is! whats the sizing like? don't have anywhere around here that sells them so will be an online purchase. I thave a 38" chest which Montane say should be a small?! I've never classed myslef as small.
Andy your the same size as me by the sounds of it and I have a medium and its a perfect fit. Got me through all the winter training rain snow etc plus worn it on a couple of more chilly spring runs and its perfect.
Check out sportsshoes.com they normally have the best deals on the featherlite
Andy - are you planning on wearing it in the summer?? Because even though it is very light etc - if running in a t-shirt and featherlite you will still overheat very quickly.....
I overheat very quickly any time of year! Thinking more Autum/ Winter/ Spring, maybe Summer the way summer is looking!
Also looking to use in on my bike when I cycle to work, at the moment still having reasonably chilly mornings where I need a bit more than just t-shirt.
Ok - mine does me all winter. Usually it's just t-shirt and jacket on top with gloves on....and it's won't keep you dry if really peeing it down...but it's a great light jacket none the less.

Montane featherlite for me!
A bonus is if it is washed in pure soapflakes it seems to retain its water repellency much better than other windproofs I've tried.

Try a windstopper gilet instead...
+1 again for the montane featherlite.

No not expecting to be dry when it really rains, but should help keep me warm when wet I'm hoping.
I am 38 chest and have a medium featherlight. It's great but I would say I'd have liked to have tried a small too. The medium is slightly flappy.
I have a featherlight too but I've seen an omm smock that packs much smaller which I think I'd prefer given the choice!
