Elswick Express 10 mile road race

Just to let you all know the Elswick Express is on the 20 july this year. You can enter with runners world, ukforms ,running diary, You will get a bag of summer fruit, medal + bonds ice cream this year. This year a pound from every entry will be donated to the Brathay Trust through fellow club members Angela and Charles Colby, who not only ran windermere marathon but also ran from fleetwood to brathay to raise money for the trust that help under privaleged children.   • Good to hear that Accrington RR have put this one as a club championship race so should be a good turn out many thanks. Its for a good cause and it is a great course.
  • If you don't fancy a good 10 Miler, the Sunmmer 10K Sunday 21st July  on Blackpools North Promenade from the Hilton is flat and fast, hurry filling up 350 entries to date, limit 500, £10.00 entry fee including medal & refreshments at the Hilton in Springs Night Club

     

  • Just got Charles and Angela Colby to marshall at the half way point, you wont miss them as they will have there running kit that was made for them for there mammoth run up to brathay. Hope to see a few more runners world members there as this is a great pb course and is a good distance to run if your training for an early autum half marathon + the icecream after is the best in lancashire.
  • Looking good just up to 65 in and two weeks to go. last year we only had 34 pre entries and had 124 finisher so it looks like we could get 150+ this year. If you have young children then onsite there is a football pitch and childrens play park + tennis court so hope to see a few of you there cheers Alan T.
  • For all the people running on saturday,Please hydrate well the night before put a couple of beers in there but just a couple and plenty of water aswell as the beer releases slower than water so should keep you hydrated longer. It is going to be 26+c on saturday so at each water station there are 500ml sports cap bottles so please take on as much as possible and then tip the rest down the back of your neck and not straight on your head cheers Alan T.
