The heat was an issue for lots of runners this year, and it wasn't really all that hot! The sun is very strong in mid June though.
Serious suggestion for an improvement for future years: hand water out in bottles so runners can run and drink. Also maybe have a word with Lucozade about the possibility of handing their product out about half way round rather than at the start.
