some people use nun tablets or si ilar.I use the salt tablets which carry teh whole set of electrolytes........but there are only about 3 stockists in the country that sell them....
At a few tris I've seen bike checks looking at bar end plugs and not allowing people in if they're missing. Will that be the sane with the back end of tri bars? Will I need to plug them before the weekend?

Haven't been able to post for a while, I haven't had the tinternet since moving and my phone is shit.
Pre-race (swim gear, goggles, wetsuit, trisuit) T1 - gear for bike T2 - gear for runPost Race - soap, towel, nice frock
I started at 12:40 and was all done by 13:20. It then took me 10-minutes to get camping gear together. (Tent, Sleeping bag/mat, headtorch & breakfast).
Still to get: Extra suncream for before race Still to pack: bike, shoes, helmet, glasses, pump, toolkit (all together in the garage)
I will not look in the bags again, they are done. 50 minutes no distractions, no faffing. Job done.
Something that was recommended last year is to lay your kit out for each bag, then take a photo. That way you know what is in it without having to unpack or unrack.
I've packed tonight also, everything in seperate bags ready to transfer to the transition bags, everything packed highlighted on my kit list.
Just the camping stuff to do which can wait till thursday when i pack the car. Few things to get mainly beer and food for the weekend. Oh and some ear plugs for the friday night.
I've never used salt tablets, if its hot is it recommended to do so?

For those looking for salt tablets, Amazon do a bottle of 30 for £10.99. Not cheap, but I've seen heat cramp and generally feeling crappy while sweating buckets....its not great.
Imagine the end of the open bar and someones leg/arm/torso being impaled on it. The end of the tube will go quite far. With a plug not so far hopefully.
I seem to remember some events might have only allowed tribars with a looped top so that someone can't get skewered. The rear of your tribars aren't as likely to hurt someone else but do you think the organisers will want to make the distinction?
OK, so in a crash it is likely to be your own leg that plunge through. I am sure the organisers win't mind then! Not. Get some bar end plugs. They are included with bar tape or can be bought separately. Pop in any bike shop and I am sure they can help you out. They jsut push in.
felt really calm over the last few weeks, then I arrive at work last night(3 night shifts to go) and all of a sudden get the butterlies! not so much scared but really looking forward to it now.
Weather forecast is looking good(if a little on the warm side )
What time does everyone recommend getting there sunday am? is 5am too late?

I am living in Stanford in the Vale, its about 10 miles west of Abingdon.
And here was me thinking you were a pirate........
Thats all sounding a bit Tri Talk to me
That sounds a bit to organised.
Now where did I put that plank
I know where I'd like to shove it
It was definitely a pirate that suggested it. Don't make me walk the plank, I can't swim!
In the umbrella stand, next to the other, erm, bits of wood and twigs?
Reading all this is making me feel quite sick...
Thanks all. i have Zero tabs but i was looking for the ones you can just swallow. if you have ones to spare M...eldy that would be ace thanks!
Why do bar. Ends need to be plugged?

I don't have tri bars..just ordinary drops.
I'll try and remember to pack them for you !

At my local shop they were free when I asked - another good reason to get them

cant wait now!!
i get up at about 4:30 as im camping - depends how much of a flapper you are, if you got everything sorted the night before 5 will be fine
Just going back to salt caps, these look to be much cheaper than saltstick:

I plan to buy some and given you get 180 in a pack will have spare with me.
Meface - I've got bar end plugs....just wondered why you shouldnt be without!!
I am SO nervous now.
Didnt sleep.

Need to distract myself with work today
