Last night I watched the boring long film 'Flags of our Father' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKuym66LIr4
I preferred 'Letters from Iwo Jima' and once watched both films back to back
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51lo2dpaZ_g
Someone mentioned it was directed by Clint Eastwood. I said he's a great actor and a film director.
Then someone said what film did he acted in? Then there was a long pause because I was shocked and bit taken back. Then I started stammering and said that he made many Cow Boy films. Then I said he directed that great film with Morgan Freeman - I could not think of the title!
Folks I could not think of one film he made The fact is I thought every knew
Clint Eastwood - all his film are box office!

this is your most shocking thread ever, Karen.
Play misty for me, unforgiven, dirty harry, dead pool, all the every which way films, Pale rider, Million dollar baby etc etc. He's done some great films and has been a pretty good director too.
🙂
Off the top of my head: Gran Torino; Escape from Alcatraz, The Bridges of Madison County. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Dirty Harry...
(And you'll notice these are different films from the ones Jeremy G mentioned).
We're not all as ignorant as you Karen. You see, our interests are broader than vaginal rejuvination or "The Voice". I suggest you try widening your horizons too.
For a Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More,
Paint Your Wagon, Gran Torino, Unforgiven, Magnum Force, Tightrope, Million Dollar Baby, in the line of duty, is that enough? Clint is a movie icon. It's not difficult to name twenty of his films.
I always preferred the guy who lived in the other direction; Clint Westward
Thought Karen's first names thread was really good but I see she's back to being mental again
Stiff competition but 'Unforgiven' is, in my opinion, the greatest 'Western' ever made. Clint directed and acted, with an amazing cast.
Also off the top of my head, "Hang 'em High".
Going back to the start of his career, I used to rush home to watch "Rawhide", every teenage girl I knew was mad about the cowboy trail rider Rowdy Yates. Eastwood played the role for quite a few series.
Dirty Harry, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Fistful of Dollars, A Few Dollars More, (that one with the oran-utang, can't remember the name), Bridges of Madison County, Play Misty for Me, Million Dollar Baby, The Outlaw Josey Wales.
And I'm not even particularly a fan!
ill throw firefox in there
"Bird". A beautiful film, made with real love of the subject.
Going even further back - Randy Yates in the TV series RawHide.
The Gauntlet!
Oh dear Karen...
Orangutan = 'Any which way but lose' and 'Any which way you can',
"Right turn Clyde!"
And
"You see that.....?" (points to tattoo on arm)
"What's that.....?"
"Them's Black Widders. You know what Black Widders do....?
"Gee, I don't know, when I see one, I just step on it".
Oh.... hold on.... wrong thread..... but still great quotes from a film!
Glad to see 'Firefox' get a mention
'Heartbreak Ridge' is my 2d.
The Good The Bad and The Ugly ... if only for giving us THAT soundtrack !
(the film was bloody good too!)
has anyone mentioned Kellys heroes?
High Plains Drifter, a ghost story would you believe.
🙂
Pale Rider starred and directed.
