FFS, on one hand I don't want to do it, I'd like to try another race, on the other hand, now that I have ran the route I'm sure I could run it faster and finish in the top 100. Decisions decisions.
been following the thread for the 2013 event in complete envy and am so glad someone has already started this one cos I'm in! I shall go for the 2 day, I will be slower than you guys but I will succeed.....
Been dreaming about it and was with you all in spirit last weekend, wishing it was me! Well next year barring any accidents it will be. Though not sure I fancy that flamin' hill out of Vindolanda - or the one in, or the stile.....
Hi grumpycow. Don't worry about times at all, I never came across anyone who was racing to beat other people. Maybe the winners were, but I found the rest of us were all just there for a laugh.
John - You lasted 3 hours 53 mins before you caved by my reckoning You looking at the 24-hour thing as a solo or as a team?
Forgot to add Richard and Emma to the list as well. You two out there? How's it going?
One-dayer: John MacKenzie, Richard Langton, Runnin Man.
I feel like I've conquered the wall...looking for a new challenge for next year. Saying that I reckon I could shave a chunk off my time...but who knows...weather could make it a different experience....
Hi all .. hope to get out tonight to do a slow 6 after the wall I was knocked down with a stinking cold which went straight down to my chest ended up with chest infection feel better now. Got the cheddar marathon in august and hope to do a 50k ultra in north devon in September. Have entered into the thames trot 50 ultra in feb.
Blakester which one in Devon, is it Bideford? I'm doing that, it'll be my first run in two months. I did Coombe Abbey marathon at weekend and wished I'd never bothered, 1 week after the Wall it was too much of a hard slog
Yes runnin man the sbideford 50k ultra looking forward to it going to run steady and enjoy it.its only down the m5 for me.hope to do the endurancelife cts ultras as well.
Oh btw - Weedy, I noticed in Runners World there was a feature on some guys who were running a long, long way to raise awareness about people trafficking. Was this what you were involved with (not people trafficking - the awareness of it!!)?
Spotted that Richyla - same cause, different event, different charity. We were running 1,250k between Bratislava and Brussels. 17 of us, including 8 regulars from the RW Paris Marathon thread. We finished on Monday. Heat was brutal, running in 39C at times, but we had a good laugh along the way.
Hi, I'm in !! Never run an ultra before but was so tempted because of the location. I'm doing the 2 dayer. Excited but slightly nervous that I've actually entered!! I'm in Kent if anyone is near and wants to train together some days next year?
This event is about as good as it gets on support. The course is well marked and the checkpoints are deluxe. They gave me a hot meal at the end, a sleeping bag and roll mat to sleep in one of the marquees at the end of the race, and a hot breakfast the next day.

I'am toying with the idea of going for the one dayer
Oh go on then, one dayer again
Hahaha... knew it wouldn't be long.

Can't be many who'll have done all three Runnin Man.
Know what you mean Pinkbug. I'd love to try it in one day, but just don't think I'd have the time to do the long runs needed.
John, plenty of time to decide. Can you do this as well as something else?
One-dayer: Runnin Man.
Two-dayer: Weedy.
I've got the braking strain of a wet paper bag, put my name down for the 1 dayer again!
Got the grim reaper on the 2-3rd of August.
Found the below for September, just got to convince the wife now

I'm in - just need to decide one dayer or two...
Definitely not doing it!... Well, probably not.... well I'll think about it... ok, i might....
Aargh, stop it!
I think if I trained this time I could go from 17hrs44mins to under 15hrs.

Prob be Back but not next time I don't think...
I'll be going solo, off to Mexico for two weeks now so will work on the wife and convince her that running another ultra this year is a good idea
Check out this www.broadmeadowrun.co.uk just entered the back to back marathons in December .
Weedy you tease!
A week a go I would have said deffo not - today I'm thinking "hmmmmm".
Give it another week... and promise you'll run as a Mexican.
At the same time, looking (very vaguely) at this for end of August:
Tyne Ultra
They just ran a North East 100/60/40 this weekend - checked in on the live GPS tracking a few times - felt envious.
Mexico sounds good John - have a good one.
Pinkbug - link doesn't work
Bees - Haha, it's a deal. Been looking at the Avidrunner one myself. Got Wolves Marathon that weekend sadly.

That Tyne Ultra looks fun but it's close to the Great North Run which is my first love - my ankles are onyl just recovering from The Wall
I'm in next year. Waiting on the wedsite to update.
And the price is UP. That's any decision made for me!
Entered for the one dayer 20% of earlybird price couldn't resist
Nice one pinkbug. I must say it's a great route. One dayer would be the only option for me, but there's so many other parts of the UK to explore.
Good luck to you and all that enter for next year.

Nice one Weedy, great photos. Congratulations to all of you.

As a first time for me that's good to know Ben!
