Can the ConDem govet effectively regulate Porn ?
I'm not talking about anything concerning children as that must be blocked or anything involving abuse . But consenting adults who are happy to be filmed and post it to the net.
Also a presenter on 5live today stated that porn advertising makes up 30% of all revenue for internet companies so from a business sense is it possible

The porn industry has driven the Internet. It was the porn industry that needed a means of charging that created all the ways of paying you are know familiar with
Out of interest. What's the thinking behind someone who uploads footage of themselves 'stuck up to their nuts' for all the public to see.
🙂
Yes, at times I've had to spend 15 minutes scrolling through page after page though.
Reading what those who know say, child abuse images are generally circulated below the radar and not readily found through a google search. I think the pop up warning being used by one of the search engine companys is a good idea for those putting in search terms that indicate they are looking for those types of images.
As for adult porn, opt in seems fair enough.
Whilst I'm against the latest 'big brother is watching' approach to internet regulation, I do think opt in is as good an alternative as any. I do however wonder how it will be policed. How indeed it can be policed.
How does your average 14 year old lad with a new found stiffy and a laptop go about proving that he's over the regulated age? Or your average mid 30s male/female with a healthy interest in porn? And what about the catholic priests?
One of the potential problems with the opt-in scheme is that every ISP will have to keep a database of all their customers who have chosen to opt in.
How long will that remain a secret? I can see that the police might be very interested in it. So might others, News International for example or potential employers. Imagine the outrage if a school teacher chose to opt in.

What do you think?
BAN THIS SICK FILTH
Or, you know, mind your own fucking business and maybe do some parenting. Pretty tough choice.
Impossible to implement sensibly, damned close to criminalising something perfectly legal, zero impact on what is already illegal.
mayber anyone who puts ina search which looks for child porn should be reported onto a list that a perv dept can keep and then they can send the lads around to find out why they were looking for said items
yes, they should go straight onto a "stupid f***er" list.
Is it just me that doesn't find it surprising that this thread has 299 views but only 12 posts?
What is unusual about that?
I didn't say it was unusual.
urrrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhh]#
so flob is coming over the comnputer whilst reading this....
That's really going to bugger up the keyboard
unlikely when kittenkat hasn't made an appearance.
or is that just me?
I dunno the opt in seems fair enough to me. Kids do use the internet and whilst it's easy to say parents should supervise them that's the kind of thing people who have no idea about having kids say. It's not close to making it illegal, all you have to do is opt in, what's the problem with that?
Is there something we should know..?
