After a 5 mile race in the east midlands, our club has a record time for this distance and I think I can beat it. Any suggestions would be most welcome
It'd be quite a trek from the Midlands (if a fairly straightforward journey), but this race sells itself as being good for a PB attempt: http://www.ickenham5.co.uk/ I've never run it before so can't comment, but will be there on the 15th to test it out for myself. Best of luck in your goal!

Eh ?
Used to be a couple in the old East Mids Grand Prix series .... Banbury and Rugby ?
Ohh yeah sorry forgot to mention that
Wellingborough ?
Its 10 years since I lived in the area, how about asking someone at your club ?
If you still haven't done it by February try Alsager. What is the club record?
Well, in that case definitely don't ask them what races there are, or they'll all notice what you're doing and turn up at the same race!
Good job you havent used your own name and stated your intentions on a popular running website too.
If you think you can beat them then you should organise a club race. Put your money where your mouth is.
I'm sure you could find a few club members to marshall. Could even become an annual event and expand to non-members.
Good point. Actually, you might as well tell us what club it is now. I might join and have a go at that record myself.
