Comments
Sorry date 27th October
Just been informed full road closure for the event.
Thanks for the heads up Dave, might be interested in this one if I don't feel too bad after Loch Ness
Be good to see you there. The route they have picked is perfect for Running.Plus having the roads closed is a bonus.Luton Hoo is were Jenson Button held his triathlon last week.
Already signed up. It's going to be my first ever half marathon. and the start is five minutes from my house
Nice one. There is a free training day for everyone Who signs up before August.Coaches there to give advise and help you plan training. Its being held at Venue 360.Contact orginisers to sign up.
that sounds like a good idea. i will check it out
Take it the course is pretty flat then?
Mostly flat couple inclines but nothing.one at Luton Hoo the other on A6 but only short.
Cheers dave, suspect I'll be doing this one
Entered, and looking forward to it. Got to be better than doing Stevenage's cycpleaths and subways which I had been planning to do the week after!
Entries now looking good.Lead car to follow and lead male and female bikes. As I said before closed roads up to 3 hours
I'm now in the final stages of my ad hoc plan. Did a 10l last week with a massive PB. I should be well inside my goal time of 2 hours
Dave, when do you reckon entries will close?
if your injury isn't healed for the luton half the Bedford Half is on the 8th December
another one is the silverstone half. that's well after xmas. £20 entry. can't remember whn it is
Luton closes week before unless full.If anyone has done the Luton marathon this route is not the same. Its all on road and as I said before roads will be closed.
Out of interest how many places are available?
I must admit I'm quite looking forward to this, not yet done a half on closed roads.
It was set for 1000 but numbers have been to 1500
Should be a good day out. What times are people aiming for?
Kelvin, I'm targetting a PB so sub 1hr 49. Not as fit as I'd like but my PB was done off road so it's not quite out of reach. Realistically I expect to be close but not quite there and miss it by a few minutes.
2Wheels we will help you all the way
I was expecting to do a sub 2 hour time as it's my first half marathon but due to a recent 10k time of 49.26 I may be aiming more for 1.50. But who knows what the conditions will be on the day. It'll be a pb whatever happens
Couple of our runners will be out there if you need to,tag on to them let me know.
