Lyrics - Saw it written and I saw it say

What's wrong with your foot Literatin?

What:                an easy run
Why:                  tapering
Last hard:          13/9
Last rest:           27/9

If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    morning!
Nice run Blisters, good pace too for the distance. For me to get an average HR of 132 I think I'd be brisk walking. As I posted last week, will need to get myself a cheap HRM just to see what readings I get these days.
    What - club night
Why - Its what Tuesdays are there for
    last rest - Friday
    last hard - Sunday

Applied on behalf of my club for VLM places, so a second bite beckons. We got 3 places last year, hopefully the same this.

    Lyric - doubtful

  • Morning, sorry to hear AH, hope they catch the b'stards but I dont hold up much hope on past experience (3 burglaries in as many years)

What - 12 miles run in the dark

Why - Couldn't sleep, so gave up fighting the duvet in the early hours. Hopefully will avoid nodding off at my desk this afternoon! Really enjoyed it though, certainly puts a different perspective on running.
    last rest - Saturday
    last hard - Friday

Oh, and thats a no on the lyrics.

  • What: maybe swim this evening (pool)
Why: slow progress down the stairs this morning

    Last Hard: LSR yesterday

    Last rest: Sunday

    Lyrics: no

Blowing a gale through the night

  • Sorry to hear about the burglary, alehouse image   it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth if you can't feel safe in your own home anymore

    Blisters: brilliant running image

I managed 30 mins without stopping yesterday. Sciatica all the way down the left leg but I can live with that. It was nothing compared to the pain that hit me about 2 weeks ago when all this rubbish kicked off ...

    what: another 30 mins tonight
    why: better than nothing
last hard: driving is hard at the moment - wish I drove an automatic
    last rest: 27/9
lyrics: I think so but not 100% sure

alehouse so sorry to hear about your mum and the break in, that's horrible

OH you are way more on track for Snowdonia than I am! long runs have been 12, 13, 16 and 15! I am banking on my marathon head I think... Oh goodness....

    Afternoon.

    What: rest again I think
Why: too much work to finish before bank holiday
    Last hard: resting
    Last rest: yesterday
    Lyrics: familiar, but no

Chick good to see you running.  Do you have exercises to do for your back?
Wabo surprised today wasn't the last hard, 4 times up a hill!  when is Snowdonia?
Dustin good luck in the ballot.

    Have a good one all.

  • Not excited today as I don't know the lyrics.

LMH - bruised/swollen ankle, hurts to walk on. It happened while I was unconscious after passing out in a race on Sunday. image

    Hi Chickadeee! image

  • 1 mile warm up, weights session, 5 mile with a small bit of speed.

    Turbo hour later!!

  • Afternoon!

Yesterday's lyrics were "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" Cher. No idea of today's.

What: will be 40 mins or so later
Why: its what we do! Tired though...have spent from 7.30 labouring again: need to get certain things finished before the plasterers come on Friday, and I'm working the next two days.

Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • That doesn't good Literatin - do you know why you lost consciousness?

You have a BH coming up emzap?

Racing as much as ever Wabo - you'll have earned all that cake.

    What's the next race Paddy?

No need to cross train Alehouse!

If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
  • Afternoon

     What 7 with strides

    Why I bow to P&D

    Lyrics no

As a Radio 2 DJ used to claim "night time is the right time" Adrian. I always prefer toru. early even when I'm not working.

Ale- really sorry to hear about your Mum's break in. Must be really unsettling.

yes LMH. Chicka and I get German Reunification day on Thurs.  Fits in nicely with going down for the marathon so get a nice long weekend.

  • LMH - no idea! I'm annoyed about my missed PB though. Grr. Am having some tests this week.

  • Enjoy emzap.

Hope you get some answers and it's nothing serious literatin.

If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

Welcome Literatin and hope ankle / consciousness issues are sorted

    What - Intervals (2 x400m / 4 x 800m / 2 x 400m)
    Why - Speed
Last Hard - Above at lunchLast Rest - Last Weds

    Lyrics No

    Take care

  • Evening!

What: turned out to be 36 mins
Why: I struggled. Legs ached from about 15 mins. May be the cross-training.
    Last hard: that was
Last rest: yesterday...at least from running.

Going to work tomorrow and Thurs for a rest!

Birks: I seem to be rather short of Commonwealth tickets, hockey apart. 5 of us applied for all the athletics sessions...and got none between us. Can you sort it please?!

Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • LMH - Either  a XC race on 13th Oct or a road race end Oct/ early Nov.

Ale - remember your March Target

  • Lyrics, ah, yesterday's was relatively easy and I was humming it, even though I got the wrong artist. Today, normal service is resumed.
Dustin, if you start your HR calcs with the most basic approach of 220-age, giving me a theoretical max of 168. For 85% or working heart rate for a marathon, that gives me 143. Maybe add a couple because the I've been able to top that theoretical MHR.

It seems like general training today is pretty much a drag it out day (except for RFJ). It certainly was for me. Just the 5 miles to loosen up a bit.
