Hi there, Our plans in February 2014 have changed and we are available the weekend of the Brighton half - just wondering if anyone has 2 places they're willing to sell/transfer?? Many thanks Mark
Hi folks, just a reminder if anyone should have a couple of places for the Brighton Half that they'd be willing to sell to give us a shout - many thanks!
I have a place for this but am unable to run due to injury. But didn't think the race allowed transfers? Don't mind selling if someone can show me otherwise though but wouldn't want someone else running under my name.
Cut and pasted this from event website Race Rules for your information:

You must not under any circumstances give your race number to anyone else. Amongst other potential problems, doing so may cause problems of identification for the event medical services in the case of any accident or injury. Any attempt to do so will result in immediate disqualification of the individual(s) concerned and ejection from the event.
Btw Race organisers have been known to read these forums.
Didn't mean to be a party pooper but if the organisers knew of any numbers which were being transferred 'illegally' they could use their 'bouncers' to stop that runner during the race. Again, it has been known to happen.
I don't think there is a waiting list. Is a good idea up to a certain time before the race otherwise would be a logistical nightmare. They do need to have the correct name of the number wearer in case of that runner being involved in an emergency.
Incidentally it looks like I won't be able to take part and my number will be unused (unless my podiatrist works wonders).
The event website has details of charities which still have places. WaterAid require £275 fundraising target so if anyone has lots of rich friends or works for a generous company it could be a solution.
I've been following my training programme very closely since a week before Christmas. I've got my first problem. On Sunday I have to be somewhere. So it's not ideal for getting my 20 mile run in. Instead I'm thinking of not doing my long run on Sunday and doing my 20 miler on Monday instead. Monday is usually my rest day. Is it okay to swap things around?
