I'm in a bit of a quandry today. Having ran Kileder last week I am still recovering but Frankfurt is two weeks away. So in my make it up as you go along plan I'm unsure what to do today. I'm thinking 10 miles easy. That should provide a mild endurance stimulus without being too taxing. On the other hand it's wet and windy so day time tv and sunday roast also has it's attractions.
I did 10 in the wet. Don't think it's super important as long as you keep up *some* running! I do now know that my water resistant belt isn't water PROOF and my phone is in the airing cupboard!
PC.. I would have done the 10m, the roast would taste better afterwards!
13m today with a 5m club XC in the middle of it. Windy, wet & a bit muddy so happy enough to average under 7's with 34.32 for the 5m. Off to the pub now.
Well I got stuck with the dilemma do you go short outdoors and risk upsetting the ankle or very long indoors to get running time in on the dreadmill. As it is really really windy up here I went for the latter after work yesterday afternoon. 22 miles in a few seconds over 2 1/2 hours. Hellishly boring for the last hour and bloody painful for the last couple of miles in general. The ankle survived OK!!!!!!
Thanks for your boys draw against Hamilton yesterday MCDave. All dropped points by them are greatly appreciated. The Dees are on a roll.
Roped into the East District Cross Country 4k Relay today. Last leg, so a fairly lonely run. The ground was firm, so it was fairly easy going, just very, very short.
Just heading back from Eindhoven mara, a very, wet, cold, windy miserable morning, but a great mara, really amazing support given the conditions and Fido you were right about the city finish, really uplifting, hope everyones runs have gone well?
Nice effort on a warm day DJ, good stuff. Mind you the BBC reckon it's going to be 21 degrees in Frankfurt next Friday so better pack skimpy gear & sunglasses!
Congrats to JW too, shame about the miserable weather.
Can I get this clock switching right. Clocks go back on the Saturday night by one hour, meaning the race is in fact 1 hour later and it's already been put back half an hour. They way it's going it'll be run on Monday morning soon!
Shame they don't put the clocks back midrace I might get close to a Boston qualifier or PB. As it is I will only get a sniff at either if I cross a timezone mid race!!!!
Well done JWheezy and DJwolf on the marathons. Especially jealous of DJ's Chicago adventure after Tokyo this Feb coming that will be the last of the 6 majors that I haven't got to.
PC.. in most of my mara campaigns of the last 10 years I have done a 13-16 miler in the penultimate week. I guess old habits die hard! Might come back to bite me though. Considering a bash at the parkrun on Saturday as a final thrash for the legs.

10 miles done. Roast in the oven. Job done.

Daylight saving ends on the 27th. Remember to take the extra hour in bed!
Hi All
Just an update 3:25 for me in a hot and sunny Chicago. A great marathon to run. Got home Tuesday and ran a 3.5 mile recovery.
Hope you all tapering well.
Well done Jwheezy for Eindhoven
Well done djwolf

Last longish run for me tomorrow, about 16/17m.
By skimpy gear do you mean PhilPub style shorts

Hi DJ, thanks and well done on Chicago, great time on a hot day and a recovery run to boot!
Thanks Wardi too, the atmosphere made up for the weather and gave me an excuse to take it easy.
hoping for better weather in Frankfurt, but I'll be taking additional clothes just in case!
PC, whats this about a time change?
Thanks Caniggia and well done on your Majors hunt!
The clocks go back a week on sunday so we all get an extra hour in our scratchers!!!!
Thanks Caniggia.
Hoping to get to Tokyo in 2015 (fingers crossed). Then all majors done
Race starts at 10:30 rather than 10 as originally stated. Something to do with the TV coverage.
Thanks pc, 30 extra minutes sleep for me then!
Still looking a bit warm in Frankfurt next week! Never mind, control the controllables as they say!
15.8m steady today. Just enough to remind me that I have a marathon coming up, not enough to tire me out.
Good running Wardi.
Nothing for me today, rest.
That's quite a long run Wardi with just over a week to go! 5 miles for me this evening having missed my track session.
Starting to avoid those people with the sniffles now.
