I managed about ~500km out of my Nike Free 3.0's V3 before the uppers give up the ghost. I bought the V4 version last week and have done no more that 25 miles on them and already they are beginning to tear just below the Nike Swoosh on th inside of each shoe (above the arch). The punctures in the outer material have propagated to form a tear and he inner membrane looks far to weak to prevent a full on tear. Wondering if I have a duff pair or this is a fairly normal flaw in these shoes. Cheers Sean

This is a brand new upper design for Nike.
I'd be surprised if it is a duff pair - probably just that this new kind of upper can't cope with your particular foot shape and where your foot stresses the upper.
You'd assume the design has been tested thoroughly to cope with average abuse for most people's feet - I think you are just unlucky in this case..
Either way they shoud last longer than 25 miles for anyone - so IMO you are entitled to a full refund.
I wouldn't bother getting a replacement V4 version - I'd seek out another V3 version.
Does anyone know if the V5s resolved the issue with the V4s?
Oh, I forgot about this. The Nike shop gave me a refund and I replaced with some Inov8 233's which have so far been excellent.
They're comfy but not as responsive as Kinvara's [can't comment on Brooks Pure though], but i cant see them being too far away from Sketchers. Kinda mushy on the push off.
I've just ordered a pair of v5s, 2-5 days for delivery, so I'll report back in due course...
