Enthusiastic and experienced hill runners keen to run a 10k route with stunning views of Beachy Head and the Sussex Downs need to look no further than the Beachy Head 10K.

Organised in conjunction with the Beachy Head Marathon taking place on Saturday 26th October the Beachy Head 10k will set off after the Marathon starting klaxon sounds and will take in a route offering breath taking views as well as personal challenges for the participants.

Registration is now open for this Autumn’s event at a cost of £12.50 per person. Registration for the 10k can be made by clicking this link

Beachy Head Marathon is a long established fixture in the race calendar and attracts over 1500 runners including overseas participants and organisers thought a 10K challenge would be of interest to those runners specialising in shorter distances.

Tourism Cabinet Member Councillor Caroline Heaps said ‘I am always impressed by the enthusiasm and stamina of our Beachy Head Marathon runners and am pleased to see a new challenge introduced into the race’.

Organisers hope that more than 300 runners will sign up for the event and compete for the honour of being first past the post.

Meanwhile, with four months to sign up Beachy Head Marathon entries remain buoyant with the usual sell-out expected.

Registration for the Marathon can be made at visiteastbourne.com and Volunteers keen to cheer the runners on and provide marshalling support to the event can contact Julie Paul at the Events Team of Eastbourne Borough Council on 01323-415442.

Sponsors of the Marathon include Bookers Cash and Carry, The Grand Hotel and Eastbourne Motoring Centre.
