Having participated in the Belfast marathon on Monday, I noticed a great exponent of negative splitting in the results, coming in 162nd!
Went through half way around 1.55, but did the second half in 1.26, knocking 15 mins off a PB and smashing a half marathon PB in the second half of a marathon!
I've been looking to reduce my PB from 3.15 down to 3.00, so looks like I should really be trying to go through the first half in 1.45 and should be in a fit state to knock out a 1.15 in the second half.
Unfortunately the chip didn't record the 20 mile time, so not sure whether I should be pushing soon after halfway, or wait till 20 miles, or just a steady increase?
