It was really good, one of the best, good drink stations, lots of support throughout, finished with a long uphill and steep downhill, but otherwise flat. Definitely will enter again as York is a beautiful place.
I was down south this year so missed it but heard nothing but good things about it so thinking well worth a trip and should see you at the start line in 2014. Oh I have a sheffield accent Mr I if your interested.
Dickie Bird was the starter and was going about how Yourkshire was the best place in the world with the best people etc. They make some bold claims in that county. They even claim to grow tea so they can drink Yourkshire Tea.
I agree with Runnin Man. Really well organised. The start and end was in York Uni' campus and having use of the buildings for baggage areas, changing etc was really good.
Couldn't fault anything really - even the shuttle buses to and from the city centre were good.

I don't think dickie started that thing is other than the tea part all true. Only reason I put up with this weather.
This was advertised as flatter than London which it wasn't, there was a small hill in the middle but the hill at 25.5m was harsh. I thought the support was poor, there was only a couple of bands but hopefully with each year popularity will grow. The start and finish were narrow and the switchbacks were demoralising. I would do it again though, especially if they change the course - to run it the other way around and finishing past York Minster would be amazing!!
I loved it and would highly recommend. The support was brilliant in each of the villages, but the route is quite rural so there are large chunks without support. Most people I have spoken to didn't like the out and back part because it's undulating, and you have to dig deep, but I loved the support at esch end of this section. There is a sharp hill near the end but fortunately it's not too long, and it's then it's downhill to the finish. The organisation was first class.
