Not done this since it moved base to the school but liked it when the castle was the base. However, seen a few queries about the distance being accurate. Anyone heard owt?
done it every year since 2005; the start from the castle was only temporary while the school was rebuilt
all certified 10k races are accurate to something like 10 metres (0.1%). Garmins are generally 1-2% inaccurate, ignoring how much you wander across the road!
I knocked 1:25 off my admittedly unimpressive PB despite the headwinds coming back - second half was definitely slower. Thought it was a fab run, liked being parked right next to the start/finish (I'm lazy!).
The wind was a strong southerly I think, which is a little unusual. More likely to be westerly (hitting from the side most of the route) or northerly, which would be in your face outbound and be considerably colder. I marshalled yesterday so haven't run it in race conditions, only as a practice when the club were looking at rerouting the course last year. I beat my old time by nearly 2 minutes.

I have run the event the last two times from the school and have clocked 6.28miles both times on my Garmin.
It does have a certified accuracy certificate for this year.

Looking forward to my first stab at the is event! Flat and fast with a bit of road and a bit of trail? Anyone else offer me some info?

New course for this year.
explain please spirete! (or spireite?)
well, I`m in!
Different course never been done before
All road, mostly flat with some undulation, no hills as such
I'm in for this one and not run it before and is my first race since the Worksop half but will be using it as a tempo run rather than a PB attempt.
Any course profiles knocking about? I`m looking for a PB . . ..
Length according to my Garmin 310XT was dead on. Undulating but no great hills. Definite PB potential and loads of loos.

Does anyone know if there was an official photographer?

I agree David - I hit 5k at 21 and took 23 to get back. Everyone seemed to be slowing. Very good race.
