Who has made it to Bootcamp for Asics project 262?!
I got the call yesterday. Very exciting.
I really want to smash my marathon time at last year's VLM in Paris and I really hope I get through to the final 5 so I can find out what I am really made of!
Looking forward to meeting some like minded runners at Bootcamp!

are you allowed to tell us or were you supposed to keep it top secret
Judging by the twitter feed, I think the cat is out of the bag on the selection front!!
Its all been a bit quiet on the Asics competition front this year .... I haven't seen that many posts/threads?
there has been a few,.just wait till after bootcamp when the vote for me threads start
I got an invite today, but can't make it as they have changed the bootcamp date to Friday 29th Nov instead of the Saturday. That's just increased everybody elses chances! Good luck Ruffles.
That's a shame. I didn't expect to get through so was bowled over when I got the call. It feels like X factor fun runners!!
I'm in too, sooooo pleased.
cant wait for next week , nervous but excited too
Very well done to all those lucky people who have been selected for bootcamp! Good luck!
Woohoo! I found my bootcamp buddies! Hello (where are the normal non-x'mas smileys??)
Monday I was on a high after the phone call. By tuesday, I was a nervous wreck!
Can't wait to meet all of you next friday
Is anyone in the "PB" category?!
surely everyone on the shortlist is going for a PB.seems a bit of a silly catergory or is it something more
Is there a PB category? I think there's effectively 5 groups of 10, with each group trying to beat their respective time goals of sub3, sub3.5, sub4, sub4.5 and sub5.
Which means I'm the middle
I thought that it was split differently last year into categories like "PB hunter", "first timer", "pushed for time" so it's more about the training experience rather than just times. I could be wrong, I guess we'll find out this time next week!!
My mum is off to boot camp. 4:30 I think and first time. Got email today. Not sure if she's on here although I know she lurks! Have to ask her nom de plume.

Ok, just got the email, it is split by times. I think I put sub 4 hours! Am really excited that Mara Yamauchi will be there!
Toro, tell your Mum to stop lurking and get involved. She should be celebrating that she got through!
Hi Ruffles, I'm so excited.....only had an email yesterday so think I may have been a reserve but so what. Can't believe it.
I'd be a first timer....
Looking forward to a whole day of running and running talk.
Aim to enjoy the day, learn lots and if I get any further a big bonus.
Toros mother! ( no longer lurking! )
I'm aiming for sub 5 hours, is anybody else in that category? I haven't found any friends in my group yet ... VERY excited about meeting Mara Yamauchi - just need to think of a suitable and sensible question to ask her!!
Well done Littlemissactive for coming out! Good attitude, I think it will be a special day no matter what. If you don't get through, run a marathon anyway. I ran VLM last year and it was the most amazing day!
I am in the sub 4.30 group Running Bunny 7. Not sure I can actually achieve that never having run a marathon before but race predictor indicators say I can! if only it was that simple....hope you meet some fellow sub 5 hour runners soon. Looking forward to meeting everyone on Friday.
Hello - I got the call as well. I've never run a marathon before so am in the 4:30 or 5 category. Cannot remember what I put in (is that bad?). I ran my first half in Cardiff this year. Really enjoyed.
Looking forward - but am really nervous after getting the itinerary yesterday evening.

You'll be fine ... I'm sure our nerves will all turn into energy and excitement when we get there ... Imagine how you feel before a race, all nervous and excited, it will be like that but 100% more exciting
For all those RW readers that haven't voted, pls take a second and vote for the Asics 262 finalists. Voting closes tomorrow at noon so we'll stop pestering you soon, promise!

Hi Runners World people ! I got the call for Birmingham today too! Really excited. I'm in the First Timer group. I'm a novice with a new addiction - looking forward to meeting you all in a few days !
Congratulations Charles!
In your excitement you may not have spotted that this thread was from last year.
