So far I only have one sprint and two olys scheduled here in Germany, and then Challenge Weymouth whcih I haven't let on to OH about yet 'cos I know he'll moan about me doing a half - seems to think because I'm now medically banned from IM I can't do 70.3 either. Out to prove him wrong.

Not sure about anything else.

8th June - Bala
20th July - UK Ironman
Not sure about the latter end of the season.
This is plan A, no plan B which isn't good when I consider I haven't run since pulling out of IMUK in August injured and the foot is still in a boot. Swimming and cycling going great though.
You going to try and beat me a chirk this year?
1st January - 31st December: Just being my normal legendary self...
I doubt it.....
God it's not that bad. Not sure yet as awaiting how sarah's job plans out but hopefully a few races next year. Need to check the list before posting.
That sounds distinctly suboptimal - what have you done to your foot? Are you sure cycling is ok?
I'm sure you're all over it, so dont worry too much about the running - you'll pick it back up again pretty quickly and it sounds like you're staying fit.
The foot needs to be re-aligned - I had major issues at IMUK and it's taken multiple x-rays and scans to get it finally diagnosed. The boot is more protective now in that the consultant doesn't want me to go back into "lazy" mode when I'm walking - running is out due to the impact and the need for the foot to be totally re-aligned before starting back. Cycling is ok, so long as I have an insert placed into my shoe to keep the foot straight and I come out of the pedals with the other foot.
I've kept relatively fit and having dnf'd so many times last season due to the injury and illness my motivation to hammer next season is so high. Not only that, I'm on the edge of the plank on the pirate ship - need to get back on-board!
Thanks for asking flyaway.
Sounds awful, you poor thing. Did you have some sort of trauma that knocked it out of alignment in the first place, or has it been a gradual deterioration thing? I really hope you get the all clear soon. Fingers crossed for a great 2014 in compensation.
A bit of both, I've broken the foot and had 3 lots of surgery on it, but it was also an accumulation of too much training, not enough stretching and even worse, training when injured . I'm now stretching, having regular sports massage (this has helped no end) and looking after myself a lot more.
I can hardly wait for 2014 and as someone said to me, missing one season might not be such a bad thing both physically and mentally - I'll let you know the answer to that after South Africa.
