I run for fun and to keep fit. I have completed a marathon, a few halfs and a trail half. I'm thinking about trying a fell race for a different challenge and to keep me motivated. Was wondering if anyone has completed one they would recommend. Am based in the Midlands so any close would be ideal. Any ideas or advice very welcome. Thanks Andy

Mercia Fell Runners based in Telford might be a good start

Not strictly fell running, but fabulous hilly running www.cotswoldrunning.co.uk Broadway Half and Marathon are coming up in November and are lovely races.
Cardington Cracker, Cardington, nr. Church Stretton, Dec 1st, £6.00 entry on day. Completely wiped me out last year. Still, plan to go back this year if I've anything left after Snowdonia marathon
Thanks for the info
Which county do you live in?
Do it. You will never look back, I stopped actively competing on the roads several years back and have never regretted it - running on the fells is the best thing I've ever done.
I wouldn't get too hung up on doing a race though, the best thing to do is to find out the nearest suitable terrain near to you and just go and run.
p.s. You live in the Midlands? There is a strong fell-running tradtion in the Shrewsbury area, then you have the Staffordshire Moorlands .... the Peak District won't be far away.
