Hi, Its my first time writing in a forum so I hope I'm doing this right.
I have been running for a couple of years now and for the past year since I have upped my miles, I get to about 5-6 miles in distance and I get painful blisters on the bottom of my feet mainly on the ball of my feet under the big toe, I have changed trainers a couple of times and have as recommended invested in some expensive layered blistered socks although nothing seems to help.
any tips? is there something else I can try? I'm training for a half marathon in March and its becoming such a hindrance.
Thank you

Try putting some Vaseline on the offending area before heading out.
Hi Thanks for your tip. Ill give that a go on my next run.
I found the only thing that worked was new, bigger, shoes. Having said that a blister under your foot might mean your shoes are too big and your foot is moving around?
I've been running over 10 years and have had a constant blister, also on the ball of my foot, under the big toe on both feet.
I find using Boot's padding strapping tape helps to some degree on the longer runs but other than that have learnt to put up with it.
compeed is also a good product for blister treatment. They also do an anti-friction stick for blister prevention, alternatively try BodyGlide (available from wiggle and elsewhere).
+1 on the "ditch the double layer socks" comment above. Get some good quality running socks and you might solve the blistering unless your feet are really moving around in the shoe in which case that's more likely the cause of the problem.
