Just watched a good mate cross the line at IM NZ. I'm feeling all inspired. Should probably let the pancakes and bacon settle before I do anything too energetic.
No race plans for me this year, Wish i had time to even ride my bike, working 24/7 at the minute. Once i get into a regular routine should be able to get back to training for something.
I went out on my bicycle yesterday. First time outdoors since the autumn . Beautiful day, cycled for 1¼ hours, and was reminded in no uncertain terms that, "if you don't use it you lose it"! Really enjoyed myself, but some bits felt much harder than they should have. The saddle, for starters. Swimming is slightly more encouraging. Did some timed 100m on Monday and have speeded up by 10 seconds since I last timed myself. Happy days
Well, I've been to Swimfit tonight and it wasn't nearly as taxing as my efforts earlier in the day - a zombie birthday cake and blood jelly with worms in!
No swimming, biking or running done today but an hour of walking in the hills instead. Started off a perfect bracing spring day, but managed to get caught in a torrential downpour what had sleet in! Had to have toffee cake to fend off the hypothermia.
Exciting news. Tri plus magazine are doing an article on my Ironman Journey off the back of my blog. I have a photo shoot on Tuesday. Apparently one of the pics will be a double page spread. To fit my belly in i suppose

I would do but that limit's the time I have to eat cheese and drink tea.

What are everyone's race plans for this year?
Start when the gun goes off and finish before the clock does

See, there's the evidence I've got the best mentor

Managed to squeeze in a rare 20 mile ride today. Cycling, in shorts, in March?? Leg shaving season here already
Howdy SD

Ouch, dont think i could handle a waxing
Your welcome to a free coffee if your ever in Norfolk though.
Barmy weather today, was like summer. Probably snow next weekend.

Agree about the saddle. My ass has been killing me after my first few rides recently.
On the plus side, got my training mojo back

Nurse are there pictures anywhere of this cake? It should like fun.

Well, there were very specific instructions that there had to be "a man shooting the zombies with a bazooka so they fall onto the circular saws" ...
That's incredible chuck
Cheers dear

Does toffee cake also work as a preventative?
Hmmmmmm ... to the best of my medical knowledge, it's never stopped a pregnancy But if you know different ...

Really Melds? Oh how silly of me
SD is going to be a centrefold! Tell them to be careful where they put the staples.
*chortle*
SD make sure they do the photo's tastefully. Your know it's going to be on Meldy's wall for years after otherwise.
