Just pre-registered. This is the most exciting news in a long time.
Who's in?
Comments
Preregistered as well, be good to do a 'flat' 70.3, seems the date will clash with Wimbleball through, June 14th (Fathers Day?), and also Cotswold 113.
Both myself and Mrs SA have pre registered
isn't this in place of Wimbleball?
No, same day I think.
Presents a tough decision for me as I would be able to ride Staffs every weekend I'm 'home' but think the Wimbleball course favours me more...
Does that mean that they are replacing Wimbleball ?
Wimbleball hasnt got a date yet - but there's no way that IM will put on two IM in the same country on the same date. I guess they'll move Wimbleball.
IM site says it's an additional 70.3 so I'm hoping that's true. With the location of this one I'm very tempted but already have a holiday booked that weekend next year so it looks like a fun one for 2016
"2014 IRONMAN 70.3 Exmoor Champion Will Clarke said, “It’s great news to have another race on home soil as I’m currently only racing in the UK once a year.""
Suggests it will be in addition to, but it's currently on the same date....
On the IM site I saw- Wimbleball date was a TBA ?

Quote from Kevin Stewart, Managing Director IRONMAN UK & Ireland, “We are extremely excited to be expanding our IRONMAN® 70.3 events" calendar(http://www.tri247.com/article_12967_70.3+Staffordshire+announced.html?region_id=&category=)
It's going to be a draft fest though, Staffordshire website (http://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/leisure/Ironman/Ironman.aspx) says 200,000 competitors
wow 200,000 that's going to have to be a wave start
No, keep it a mass start, would certainly make good TV
Definitely keen for this one. Only an hour from home and I dont like hills! Pre - registered!
With a net boost to the economy of £2.7m, that suggests the total cost to me is going to be £13.50.
Bargain.
I've pre-registered - only an hour away from me!
am I reading it right.split transitions.......I really don't like the idea of split transitions...
Correct Seren.
Chasewater is 13.1 miles away from Shugborough Estate according to the Google... maybe it's a long run into T1 and they take that off the run?
Mousey, this looks like the perfick warm up for IMA....... spread the word?!
2 weeks before is too close for first timers or most sensible people.......
since when have pirates been sensible?
Ah. Yeah there is that. Ha.
I've pre-registered. I've neen told that it's due to the popularity of Wimbleball and the fact it fills up so quickly
I pre-registered too - it's on the proverbial doorstep would be rude not too...
