I have a place in next years paris marathon. I was wondering if anyone knew of a cheap hotel/hostel that is well placed. Been looking but there are so many.

There's a Paris marathon thread over here with lots of regulars on it who can advise on accommodation - pop over and say hello. Basically as long as you're either near the start/finish at the Arc de Triomphe (expensive) or on a direct or directish metro line to the Charles de Gaulle/Etoile stop (the cheaper option) you'll be fine. Transport is very efficient on the day.
