Womble is of the female persuasion, Jindalee - but you're not the first one to get this wrong (casts mind back to the heady days of the Runner's Arms circa 2005,...)
Hartal today means that we are not allowed to leave the diplomatic area so I am working at the hotel. Clearly, "working" means checking Facebook and RW......but I've prepared as much as I can for the revision course (that I should have started teaching today....) and can't really do much more that's work-related, so I shall spend the afternoon reading and mooching around. Out for dinner this evening at the Dutch Club with some other UK people who are working on the same project as I am.
Morning, desperately need coffee please. Sorry Womble didnt notice you still there as I left last night ...apologies Great news for Miniwomble
Sweetest Thing sounds like a fairly chilled day for you today ! Had planned a little 8 miler this morning but am struggling to get my head around it ...seem to have lost my mojo since Chester Mara. Well the skip is now full of bricks and I will be clearing out the garage later....groannnn......Mr S currently in New York ....seems to miss out on all the good jobs
Crikey it's quiet in here ...lunchtime and all that ! Thought would have a peek inside as seem to have picked up internet signal from cafe over road from work !
Thanks for letting me know about womble. Ups.. Got it totally wrong there. sorry womble!
Thanks for the link womble! Will def read it when I have some time.
Just wanted to pop in quickly as I'm about to go for a run. Survived another day at work and it's a too gorgeous day not to go running. It's sunn, warm and bright blue skies. What more could one want?
Hello again what pastries have you got sweetest thing? They smell delicious. Fancy one for dinner. Had a lovely 9 mile run along the water, my phone is telling me that it's still 25 degrees outside.
I'm getting enough hours sleep but its a bit intermittent. Not a problem this week while I'm off work and can go to bed early and sleep in late. I'm suffering more from physical tiredness and aching muscles which make it difficult to do anything and I am getting so bored.
Big hug SuperCaz , stay strong and take it easy. Must be difficult when you feel so crappy .....would you like me to pour you another hot chocolate or do you fancy a pot of tea and some bikkies
Hi Womble, i started reading your blog. so far it sounds like you had an amazing time I can totally understand that you want to go back. Its an amazing place to be
Can I have a "fiddlers elbow", followed by an "old crafty hen", then a "black sheep", and as i feel like getting drunk, a "golden hen" and a "golden sheep" and then just repeat from the beginning again
Thought for a second this was a farmyard, not a pub!
Excitement in Dhaka today as a senior politician was sentenced to death for war crimes. His party immediately called three hartals for tomorrow, Sunday and Monday. So I am confined to the diplomatic district all tomorrow and then have to find something to do on Friday before catching my evening flight home. Could have flown home tonight if I'd known I wouldn't be able to work tomorrow....ah well. Maybe I can do some shopping on Friday to pass the time.
A hartal is a general strike, Cinders. There have been three in the last month. They call them at the drop of a hat and I am not allowed to leave the diplomatic district otherwise our insurance is invalid and, also, they can get violent. 500 people died in hartal-related violence last year.
Despite all this, it is an amazing country to visit.

Not sure about that Womble ! ...Fancy a top up ?
Well it would be rude not to. More bubbly, please. Miniwomble got her first ever proper job offer yesterday!

Well done, MiniWomble!
